i have an idea for a game, (if FM5 will allow this) have a debat only the person that dosen't give up WINS! i wanted to know if everyone else on the site liked the idea, the person that wins could take on the next challenger on so fourth.

ok then, this is going to rock!
the way i see this is, if you are talking about the design then they are both the same. if you are talking about gameswise then sonic sucks big time. all the sonic games after sonic adventure 2 which there are a lot off suck, games like sonic riders 1 were rubbish because they featured the blue blur but thats all it was, sonic in a game with yet another stupid gimmick, mario on the other hand has had tons of brilliant games the huge list goes as follows
- super mario world series
- the 3 main mario games (super mario 64, super mario sunshine and super mario galaxy)
- the mario bros series
- super smash bros series (as a fighter)
and camoes in other games
sonic has been going downhill basically (from a point of view) because sonicteam can-not be bothered which is proberly why they put him in brawl, they ruin the blue blur's reputation as a cool games character and assume throwing him in brawl is how to solve it
i'm not saying sonic will suck in brawl, he'll be the best dam player in the whole game, but it seems to me that they need more then just chucking him in a smash bros game.
mario on the other hand is nintendo's mascot who it would appear are winning while sega have crashed and burned after the sega-nintendo sales war and their remark "sega does what nintendon't"

Well I think totally blue. I think 2008 will be the year of Sonic. Because Sonic RPG will be coming oiut.
Squaresoft + Bioware + Sonic = A SONIC HIT!

You've gotta admit, both Sonic AND Mario both have done very well. Sonic's been here for 16 years, and Mario even longer!
They're good, in different ways.

Older than Sonic. Sonic can get VERY VERY cheesy!
Actually, I dunno hows old Mario is, but I THINK he was made in the early 80's, so he's around 25, or summink.
Both are getting repetitive.
Mario! You have to save Princess Peach from Bowser!
Mario: ¬_¬
Sonic! You have to save the world from Robotnik!
Sonic: Wha! Not again!
See what I mean?
I'm not on anyone's side, but the 'complaining about both' side.

ok, after buying a wii, getting Mario Galaxy and Sonic and the Secret Rings, heres my opinion:
Sonic: What a crappy excuse for a game!
Mario: The most fun game i ever played!
HOWEVER!
sonic the arcade game is awesome, super mario bros is not.
sonic heroes stinx, mario sunshine rox!
sonic for 360 awesome!, mario for wii awesome!
so, i would say mario wins.
HOWEVER!(again)
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is terrible!!!!!! anyways, they both lose, its a tie. they both have movies that stink, so they both lose.
