List facts about blood pressure:
Blood Pressure - measure of force exerted against the arterial walls as blood is flowing through them.
Systolic Blood Pressure - top number; when the heart contracts, the blood pressuring against the arterial walls.
Diastolic Blood Pressure - bottom number; relaxation between contractions.
A healthy blood pressure is now 115/75.
What is hypertension? What can you do to prevent it?:
Hypertension - force of blood against arteries. Heart works harder to get blood to all different places. Heart gets enlarged due to overwork and gets hard eventually. Complications of hypertension are heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure and blindness.

What is the process of atherosclerosis?:
Stage 1: Fatty streaks develop on the arterial walls at injury spots.
Stage 2: Growth and hardening of fatty streaks.
Stage 3: Plaque formation(well developed by age 30)
Stage 4: Narrowing and loss of elasticity of the arteries.
Stage 5: Restriction of blood flow to the heart or brain; limited oxygen delivery to the heart or brain.
Stage 6: Blood pressure elevation, blood clot formation and thrombosis.
