I am so angry right now, basically Microsoft has bought out Bethesda and so now it looks like all their games will only be on the Xbox. What frustrates me the most is the excuses the Xbox fanboys have been coming out with, they'll ever accuse you of being ok with Sony exclusivity deals which one it's not the same we're talking one iteration of Final Fantasy Vs Fallout is never coming to Playstation and secondly no most of us PS users are not ok with those deals,
The one thing I keep seeing pop up is bringing up Sony buying Insomniac. A SINGLE games company that is well known for two games franchises, Resistance and more importantly Ratchet and Clank. Other than that it's a handful of VR titles, Fuse and Sunset Overdrive.
Insomniac have always been a Sony company first, for a while I figured Sony already owned Insomniac and again we're talking one studio vs an entire publisher and this isn't the end. It looks like Microsoft plans on winning this generation by stealing away every studio till there's literally no third party games for the Playstation.
I hate this, Microsoft is using their infinite money to essentially buy themselves the next generation.

Is not good news by any means - Exclusivity causes stagnancy, this will not make Bethesda any better. There's a lot of this shiz too, like Disney spreading, consuming and growing like some sort of carnivorous space blob.
One day, the Microsoft-Disney wars will consume the planet and end the human species.

It's frustrating because every time Microsoft or Sony pull stunts like this the moment anyone calls them out you get fanboys from their side of the whole stupid console war demanding where and when you called out anything the other side did.
Sony making Street Fighter, Demon's Souls or anything else exclusives sucks and when Microsoft pulled this stunt it sucked as well. The only upside to any of this nonsense is they've both decided they couldn't care less if PC gets these exclusives so at least you PC Gamers are spared from the whole exclusivity nonsense.
The disney thing annoyed me as well because all of my fellow Mavel fans cheered Disney on for buying 20th Century Fox because it meant the X-Men in the MCU. Yeah guys we did it just ignore all the thousands of people working at FOX who lost their jobs and the numerous projects that fell through because of the merger oh and the worst crime.
THEY GAVE STAR WARS TO EA GAMES. EA Games. Literally anyone else would have been better than EA Games. But yeah all these means is if I want to play another Fallout game I need to buy an Xbox. I'll have to take comfort in the fact that I have an Amazon Prime account so at least I can watch the Fallout tv series. (Yeah I got Amazon a year ago to watch American Gods and then The Boys hit Prime Video so that's too awesome to drop the service)

Amazon Prime is tempting to me, mainly because I wanna watch True Detective because I still really like Cthulhu Mythos shiz. And they gave Star Wars to EA Games? Eeeesh, that's not great.
And yeah, personally I kinda liked the Fox Studios X-Men stuff, I mean they were making X-Men long before Disney had any interest at all in Marvel. Would be cool if they implemented it as a Multiverse thing, since honestly the MCU is grotesquely bulky enough without them trying to cram in 'oh yeah also there were mutants here all along dontcha know good sir they didn't feature earlier because they were taking a nap or something'.
Of course, given the prevalence of people being xenophobic nutjobs, there's never been a better time for X-Men's message of 'hey stop being judgemental jerks ya jerks', buuuuut with Disney seemingly siding with China's attempts to absorb neighbouring countries 'because they called dibs' is uh, well, super-concerning - They might just make X-Men a new Guardians Of The Galaxy-style wacky rompfest, like they did with Thor Ragnarok. Which, y'know, was a fun movie, but honestly didn't feel like a Thor movie to me.

Amazon Prime is great. Lot of good shows. I'm thinking this year I might buy an XSX and gamepass because games are getting expensive, most of the PS5/XSX games are around £70. £70. I can't afford that. So nuts to that I'm getting gamepass and playing xbox games till that price goes down.
But yeah there is a real fear that Marvel Studios might just make X-Men into a rompfest although I think Thor might have been that way because the first two didn't do all that well so maybe we're wrong and MS makes MCU X-Men about stochastic terrorism.

The first two Thors didn't do well, true, but they did feel like their own movies. I dunno, I suppose it's like, they did what they did to make it popular, and it worked, but at the same time they made the Marvel Cinematic Universe less varied and more same-ish. I guess only time will tell how X-Men goessss - Either way, I don't think we'll be seeing Quicksilver again, given his original appearing was basically just Fox Studios giving Disney the finger. Then again, didn't see much of him during the Phoenix movie either, they sorta carted him off early.

I think I'll make a thread for the MCU cos it's kinda off-topic here but I want to keep talking Marvel.

Yeah, that's probably best. Although, this is your thread anyway.

At this point it's taking so long to get a next-gen console (thanks scalpers!) that I'd take the Xbox Series X if it meant having a next-gen console.

I believe next-gen delays are down to Covid - Everyone's at home, so gaming is at an all-time high right now.

Hopefully I can pick one up at one point, it's just getting so frustrating when they re-stock them and within seconds it's all sold out.

On the plus side, at least you know you're not alone, there's heaps of people having the same issue. Hence why they keep immediately selling out.

Yeah at least I'm not the only one, I just want a PS5. I've got a copy of Cyberpunk I can't play cos the PS4 version is soooo bad. It's funny so many people want the PS5 games to come to the PS4 and on the one hand I get that cos so many of us don't have PS5s but it'd be worst,
Take the new Ratchet and Clank which was made with the PS5 in mind so it can instantly load entire worlds in seconds. Who wants to play that on a PS4? It'd be a literal minute of gameplay and then a loading screen, another minute of game-oh loading screen. How is that fun? Just wait for a PS5 and play it on that.
Personally I hope the future of exclusives is putting them all on PC so PC Gamers like you can enjoy everything. Leave the console wars to the consoles and give PC Gamers everything.

I wouldn't mind that! X3 Although I don't really buy that many Triple A games, so maybe I'm the wrong market anyway.

And now Microsoft has claimed Blizzard-Activision as well now. I really miss the old days of World of Warcraft... I don't know if Microsoft can make the games come back from the odd spinning of tales that Activision wrought... But one can only hope this is a good thing.
But as Timey already said... Yeah. Microsoft Vs Disney - that's all that's gonna be left if people keep selling out. :/
