I made this thread before (and I may lock it) but I wanted to retry it and see if it picked up again, basically the idea is for people to come and write up their perfect idea of a sequel to a movie, video game, TV Show (so the next season) and so on because sometimes it is just so obvious what should come next. Maybe it's even a reboot. Go nuts, seriously just put whatever crazy ideas pop into your mind.
For example I keep thinking of the perfect Resident Evil game. A combination of Old school Resident Evil and the ideas that worked for the new games. I'd have a brand new character in the form of Alice Parks from the movies ONLY I wouldn't have any of her backstory from the movie, she'd only be in the game to provide us with a fresh perspective on the story, in this you can't just kick down doors and you don't even start out with a weapon.
You need ink cartridges again to save the game (which are sold by merchants)although the game allows you to save at the end of chapters to be fair and in order to mix herbs there's a complex machine you need to find or you can just buy premade ones from merchants. Basically making it so players can't just help/save on the fly. There's no big action sets, none of the enemies have guns. The plot would revolve around a reboot of Resident Evil, Alice being a reporter who accidentally becomes involved in a raid on an Umbrella facility that's been accused of conducting illegal tests
While she's running an expose on the pharmaceutical company, a S.T.A.R.S team attacks, basically this universe is composed of the guys from the movies and games. Of course everything goes wrong and eventually Alice finds herself under attack when the experiments break loose and begin attacking everything in sight. In this version Albert Wesker is actually an inside man working for William Birkin who hope to have the US Government force harsher restrictions on companies like Umbrella by showing them a worst case scenario.
It'd be great to go back to the start since the series got too out of control, I mean why was Albert Wesker trying to destroy the world and why did Capcom think enemies with guns would be ok? Also if I was to make a new game I'd use a combination of the best enemies of the series as well as puzzles that actually make sense for an underground facility.
