A Youtube series made by The Fine Bros. where they show kids/teens/elders/youtubers something from pop culture or the news and ask their opinions on it.
Most of them are light-hearted, but there have been some serious topics (Sandy Hook, Bullying, Gay marriage, for some examples)
The only youtube series I genuinely like, but I enjoy it on an intellectual level more than anything else.

Oh really? I hadn't heard of this Youtube series before. Sounds promising with good topics.
And most of those topics are to be serious and treated with respect anyhow. I can see how they might result in conflicts, of course, but it's good to view all sides on that intellectual level that you mentioned. ;]
What are some of the opinions you've noticed for those topics?

Children are incredibly open-minded to homosexuality.
They were extremely anti-bullying (teens) which pleased me to no end.
And they felt that for school shootings, it's sad that no-one really remembers the people who get killed, but the emphasis gets put on the person who committed it. And that America needs to treat mental health more seriously.
They're quite easy to find really.

I can see how children are more open to homosexuality. Most children even go through phases before puberty, too.
I'm a heterosexual female, but when I was a young girl I actually thought this one girl at my old public elementary school was really pretty and I thought I liked her. She was pretty, but I later figured out it wasn't THAT kind of actual attraction.
So, it's quite normal for kids to go through some phases. And some it's not a phase, but it's real. I have a few homosexual friends now and I believe what I see is real and just. I can't argue with that.
And yeah, I'm pleased about the high anti-bullying. I never got a chance to be bullied luckily(except by father...), but I know it's a terrible thing that mostly teens go through. Just not right. D:
The criminal behind school shootings is DEFINITELY given more attention than its victims. That, too, is just messed up. It's not like the families of those victims can forget, so why does everyone else forget them so easily? XD
And the American health care... It's always been shit. -_-
All extremely good points. I should look those up. ;]

As someone whose school life could be summed up by the word 'bullying', it pleases me to no end to see such opinions.
It really does scar you. I know it has me.

And that America needs to treat mental health more seriously. They're quite easy to find really. Actually I'd say the emphasis is placed on what caused the killer to commit his actions so when we should be talking about gun control or improving health standards so it's easier to catch the early signs of mentally illness we're talking about why the US government needs to increase tax on violent video games. Which is something I'm 100% against. The mentally ill are constantly being made to feel as though the thing that's wrong with them is their own fault, I was part of a campaign (I signed a signature, nothing special) to have The Sun newspaper backtrack on a story in which they claimed mentally ill people are a dangerous to themselves and others when in reality their more likely to be victims. Most people with mentally disorders are too afraid to come forward when someone attacks them so they make for easy targets. The US government is partially to blame, they've allowed hatred of certain people to continue for too long. Transgender, disabled, homosexuals and it's sad since it's the abuse is coming from the country which claimed that it was a safe haven for everyone. The US should know better. It's getting better right now but there are still people who are being treated as stereotypes rather then people and gun control despite what gun owners think is out of control. People like Jack Thompson are ruining the US by focusing on personal vendettas when they should be focused on the real problems. Oh and in case you're wondering Jack is no longer a lawyer since he had his licence to practice law taken away for giving child porn to a Florida judge, the psycho felt that video games were on par with child porn.

Timewarp, have you ever thought of being in politics? Or a journalist? Or something...
You always just present yourself beautifully, like I'm reading a newspaper or news cast. You always have amazing accuracy, and very valid points. Just pointing that out because you may or may not realize how respectable you have become over the time I have known you. ^^
But back to topic. Yes, the US is meant to be the land of the free, to aim for the 'American Dream' - which really as a person is YOUR dream and the right to do so - but those concepts have all been lost and fallen on deaf ears. The US is blinded by stereotypes, as you said, and it creates abuse for its victims that have been stereotyped and raging arguments that distract people (almost intentionally by the government... I think it's VERY intentionally) from the real root problems of our country like healthcare, for ex.
And because healthcare sucks, I'm willing to vote for marijuana to become legal so my sister can use it to feel better - it has amazing beneficial qualities that help with pain, and cancer. Shelley may very well have cancer. We have gone over 20x to the hospital/ER over the last 2yrs alone. Doctors can't find what is wrong with her, which also makes me SICK because they don't do enough testing and don't look thoroughly, either. The stupidity/lack of care in this country is VERY disturbing. And I just want my sister to feel better. :[
