I'm terribly bored. If yer up to it, go forth and post your favorite Disney movies, and your favorite characters from them! Frozen is the newest movie, and my new Disney favorite. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that it's one of Disney's few original stories. Even if not, they did one heck of a job with it! My top 3 picks would probably be: 1. Frozen (Elsa) 2. Tangled (Flynn Rider duhh) 3. Hunchback of Notre Dame (Esmeralda)

I'm a major classic Disney gal. 1). Aladdin (Aladdin, of course! Love the culture background for this movie, too!) 2). Hunchback of Notre Dame (Esmeralda as well for me! ^^) 3). Fern Gully (Krista! I'm a tree-hugger by heart, too, I think! :3) I REALLY need to venture out and see more Disney films. There are so many that are new that look so great. :3

Have you seen Tangled yet? ^_^ It's pretty good, too! I think Disney is making a major comeback with Tangled and Frozen.
Tangled actually took an old tale and added a good, fresh spin to it. The characters are wonderful, and the bachelor is lovable - probably more so than any other male in any Disney series (not including Phoebus from Hunchback).
As for Frozen, it contains the least cliche female character I've ever seen in a Disney movie: Elsa. She suffers plenty of internal conflict, which is something that most Disney films don't venture into. It's a very dramatic movie. Even for something made for kids, it's easy for adults to enjoy it, too!
I think I'm just a bit too into this conversation. Too much Disney ahhhh!

For me, I can't really remember any of my Disney films, but..
I loved Lion King (Mufasa was my favourite, that scene always gets me, oh and Timon and Pumbaa) And I really loved Gaston from Beauty and the Beast.
I talked about Frozen in the introduction section. I thoroughly agree with how Frozen's females are less 'gender stereotyped'. ^^

Oh, man! I forgot about Gaston!!
For awhile, he was pretty much my theme on RMRK. I adore that stuck up son of a gun. B)

Oh, yes. Beauty and the Beast is a goodie. I always LOVED the beginning, with how detailed the art is. I remember being a child and just wanted so badly to draw the same way. Perhaps it was an early inspiration. :3
Gaston = Shelley That was the Disney character she was as a villain on a quiz! XD Me? I was Scar. ;]

I need a Disney villain quiz. B(
You mean the scene where he gets turned into a beast? Because that was pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie. B)

Yes, yes, that one! The whole intro of that movie has the best artwork of the 90's movies by far, and it leaves you knowing it's going to be a definite fantasy treasure. Which I love fantasy through and through. ^^
Libra is always high in da sky~!! XD

We should add a thread just for that! XD I love astrology stuff now after meeting you! It all just made sense to me in my head. :3
Now, I won't talk to Capricorns if they are interested in dating. <.< My dad just put them in very bad taste. ^^'
Anyhow, I think Disney movies have always been very grown up. They're easily enjoyable for adults, but definitely sets good ground work for kids. And I hate the whole thing where people think that Disney tries to corrupt children with little stuff in them, etc. I watched all the Disney films as a kid that I could, they have very acceptable social characters. And now the latest Disney movies should be better where the gender roles are more flexible/vague for kids to choose their own path.
But no one can tell me that Disney made their little girl a sweet, naive, little church mouse and made their boy some gallant hero with good hair. I mean, really? They are movies. If your kids are a certain way, they just decided what they chose to be and where they felt most comfortable. Everyone makes decisions for themselves, even kids.
Hell, I grew up playing video games, watching Digimon and Pokemon, all kinds of nerdy stuff that I thought was cool all on my own.
...Did I just go on a rant? XD

That's okay! xD Ranting is fine by me!
At any rate, I think one of the worst things that can be done is sheltering the kiddos too much. If someone is willing to shelter their kid from Disney, then they have a serious, serious issue.
Also, RMRK does have an Astrology thread (run by me, though I admit to being a bit behind on my birth chart readings lol), but it's buried within a secret board. xD I'll PM you about it on RMRK!

Please don't talk about Astrology around me.
You'll start me in an endless tirade because I bloody love that stuff.
I, too, need to do my birth/natal chart again sometime.

Oh my gosh...It seems like I am in good company! ;o;
I'm a huge fan of interpretation-based psychic practices - namely, Tarot and Astrology (which isn't really "psychic", but that's okay). I'm the interpretation nut of the Coven! B]

I LOVED how they re-invented the story and made it truly come to life! It was beautiful and artistic, and just fun. ^^ I love being whisked away to a movie like that. Perfect. :3 MUST SEE FROZEN NEXT. ^^

I have a few that are I like
Up - Since it's the first film Disney made where it's not trying to brag about how we only exist to be with a significant other.
The Incredibles - For providing Shane Black with 50% of the plot for Iron Man 3 (Guy who used to be a hero finds it hard to settle into the real world, is kidnapped by some intelligent guy from his past who is upset that the hero shunned him and is trying to use evil science to kill the hero and look like a hero himself also he has a black friend who is constantly trying to remind the hero that he doesn't need to face his problems on his own and is pushed aside constantly so the hero can look cool in the face of danger. No Shane, this is nothing like The Incredibles!)
Mr.Incredible and Iron Man even make the mistake of going in alone despite knowing tons of other people with Super powers although Mr.Incredible is far more stupid. You'd think the guy would be able to work out that almost every person he has ever known have gone missing after taking up a mysterious job offer to a random island.
For most people jumping to the conclusion of murdered by an evil villain is paranoia but these guys face that threat every day! Even if you did cut yourself off from your friends you'd check in on them from time to time since their your friends!
