i'm starting to think i;m cursed now, my first ds breaks by the hinges and now my second one's screen dissolates half-way through yoshi's island ds. how can i friggen play with half the s****** screen looking like it's taken a bath in black gloop and now my mum's blaming me for the damage and i have to call nintendo's consumer service which will probely cost up to £500 to repair with my left deciding whetver to repair it or forget my ds for now and get super smash brawl and SM:galaxy

If it takes £500 to repair, just get a new one. There's no point repairing it, if it's more money than getting another one. Just forget about it for the moment and get Super Smash bros and super mario galaxy.

Not another DS lite breakage! I'd complain seeming as this is your second one in about a year. My bro's GBA did that once. We lost it in the car and it was there for about 3 months. We then started playing it again and it broke during a game. That's the problem with making a light games console-it breaks easier.
