Im surprised that n one made a thread about this, so ill take the houners of doing it.
Galaxy is finally about and i manged to buy it. I have one word for it, amazing. This game shows off what the wii can do in graphics and gameplay.
Story starts that the mushroom kingdom is having a comet party as every 100 years a comet passes through the kingdom and bringing star showers. Peach asks Mario to come to the castle but of corse, Bowser spoils the party and kidnaps Peach and the whole castle into space. Mario is also dragged along but a magikoopa comes and blasts him away, thus starting the game.
This game is pretty nifty as the controls are easy to gain control of. Also start collecting is a little diffrent this time. Every stage has 3 stars at the star but you can also gain stars when special comets pass over. While playing ive been under comets that act like a speed run, summon shadow mario(yes shadow mario from sunshine) to race and one that speeds up every enemy. Once Luigi is found in one of the stages, Mailtoad will give you letters that show that Luigi got trapped while looking for a star and you have to resuce him.
Also this game hoems towards other Mario games, some of Mario's enemies return (goombas, koopas who now walk on all fours, piranhna plants and magikoopas are examples), a stage which is called 'Luigi and the Haunted Mansion' which is a cool homage towards Luigi's Mansion, Luigi even gets scared if you appoch him while in Boo Mario form plus many music remixs from old Mario games (main example is Bowser's stage music from 64.
Always the power ups are pretty cool, first power up you get in the game is Bee Mario which enables you to fly and can also use flowers as shortcuts and Boo Mario (my faverate) which enables you to float and turn invisable also boo's wont attack you instade get a little love heart over there heads.
Also there are stages which need you to use your wii remote. First stage you exlusivy need to use it is the LoopDeLoop Galaxy in which you ride a manta ray to complete a course using the wii remote and a button to speed up. The wii remote is used to perform the spin and spin jump by shaking it, this sttacks enemies and always doubles your jump and helps you life or death situations. You can also aim the remote and press b to shoot star bits which is used to attack enemies or hungry lumas which if you feed them enough they turn into a galaxy.
I will not say any more but i do adivse you to buy it as this indeed is the best game of this year and is sitting in his place in the top mario games of all time.
