I prefer Shadow the Hedgehog, although neither of them are as good as the Sonic Adventure series. Those games were AWESOME. I have owned 2 versions of them both.
(DC and GC/PC)

It dpends on what sort of gmae you prefer. If you like racing games which ocmpletey go awya form the sonci style genre (i mean Shadow cna run so why is sonic using a hvoerboard. He is fatser on his feet) withoput guns and destruction amd multiple ednings thne SOnic riders.
IF you prefer a gmae that suit the Sonci style genre and involves multiple endings so it tkaes ages to compelte maknig ti challenge then Shadow. It is the smae genre as the Sonic adventure series and SOnic heroes, but wiht guns. It suits shadow becuase he is darker and mroe likely to use guns ot accomplsih his goals. Also it makes it different to Sonic becuase he is nto sonic and makes mroe sense.
I've got a question who is fed up with all these differnet charcters. With eahc new game you get a new one usually and some are never seen gaian in another gmae so far. You've got:
Sonic
Tails
Knuckles
Amy
Eggman
Fang
Tikal
Gamma
ROuge
Espio
Charmy
Vector
BIg
Cream
Shadow
Silver
Storm and the other babylon rouges. (cna't rmeber names)
Metal sonic
Black Doom
Princess Elisia (or whater the princess in sonic next gen is called)
to name a few

There are loads of Sonic characters. You'd probably like Sonic and the secret rings(renamed from Sonic Wild Fire because of copyright reasons) cos it's the first sonic game since Tails was introduced with only Sonic as a good character.

he was in shadow the hedgehog and SA2. I guess he's now dead, and since shadow got over his past(i saw the end of shadow the hedgehog on youtube) he probably won't return.

I don't mind liek mario, but SOnci takes the amoutn of good guys too far. Bad guys cna be a smany as needed for the games.

At least you can tell who the characters are, and what side they are on. in Mario you have bowser jr/mini bowsers etc. plus then in some party games you have thought to be enemies joining up on the good side and it can just get confusing.

Amen to that one! But I got to go with sonic riders. It completely pwns shadow the hedgehog in my opinion.
