I like the tech so far, seems like Sony have something similar but still some great tech here. I'm not liking the games at the moment, once again Ubisoft screwed us over. I mean first they deny us PS3 gamers Splinter Cell: Conviction (oh yeah and then give us the next Splinter Cell leaving us with a massive hole in terms of the storyline) and now their playing keep away with Rayman.
If they get some good games I could see myself getting it but everytime I see a Wii U it just puts me off. I mean New Super Mario Bros U? Really Nintendo? I mean Sony and Microsoft aren't the most original of guys but do you see New Crash Bandicoot 10 for the PS3? Before I buy a Wii U I want to know Nintendo is bringing out new content and when I say new I mean a new character, their brilliant at the new IPs but we haven't seen that for a while now.
It'd be great to see a new Mario/Zelda/Metroid type character come along with their own new franchise also Super Smash Bros U is clearly being rushed to compete against All-Stars, it's Smash Bros! They started the genre surely they can stall for time with "Because we made the genre that means Superbot can't beat us". No offence FM5 if you want to buy I wish you no harm or anything the whole console war thing is stupid anyway.

No offense taken. I finally bought a Wii U after the new Mario World games were released, and then got Wind Waker in HD, and look forward to seeing the new Smash Bros. when it does release. Plus, I love LoZ too much to not get it and I look forward to seeing what they will do with it.
I've recently been playing and watching TV on the PS3 though that my sis has. I'm enjoying it a lot as well. :3

Yeah I feel bad about what's happening to Nintendo in regards to the Wii U, it doesn't have many good third party titles on the system and because of that the third party guys don't want to put anything on there, there was even a glitch with Watch Dogs and a few people are saying it was Ubisoft testing how many people with Wii Us actually want the game. The Wii U has a lot of good ideas though that I'd like to see Nintendo given the chance to play out such as using the second screen as an inventory screen so you can just look down and see everything you have.
Also these days I'm just using my new 500GB PS3 to watch netflix, I let my brother take apart my old one since it had the nerve to break just as the PS4 was coming out thus sparing me from the PS4 (I'm weak, I wouldn't have lasted long with a lot of money and a new playstation on the market)

I will agree on that - seems like Nintendo doesn't receive a lot of games that both the Xbox and Playstation consoles tend to share between them. I'm not sure if that's just because the third party peeps favor the other two or if Nintendo actually has some sort of hidden ground rules or whatever. Though, likely, it's more favoring the others - reasons truly unknown to me.
Gotta admit, I think Nintendo's best asset currently anyway is the 3DS. The console itself just has so many titles that the Wii U has just as well - even the Smash Bros. that comes out will be on the 3DS too so if you didn't like/or have a Wii U it would work there. The only prob that bothered me is the joint servers Wii U and 3DS share(i.e. the Pokemon Bank crash of 2013! lol).

Well something I heard which I think may be the problem is that due to the way the Wii U is made it means that companies have to go out of their way to make a port for the system unlike the Playstation and Xbox which are easier to port between. I don't think the solution should be for Nintendo to just follow the crowd but they need to make it easier to publish games for their systems and they need to offer something new.
Every other Nintendo game has had 4-5 launch titles that offer something new yet with the Wii U it's like Nintendo want to ride on Nostalgia. Nintendo can't relay on the same franchises anymore.

I think the nostalgia aspect is exactly why Nintendo is holding on by a thread, though. If the Wii U has trouble with that port, and many games can't be released on it or has difficulty, then makes sense why they cling to what has worked in the past. That's simple human logic.
I do love my nostalgia, but I do think it needs new titles, too. Not sure where the Wii U or future Nintendo will take us. Hopefully it's somewhere good. XD

It's a shame, because the Wii U could've been brilliant.
But when I first saw it, my immediate reaction was: It's the Wii with a tablet attached.
Also, no marketing or promo.
A missed opportunity, to be honest.
