I actually think Zelda nower days makes the same mistake most titles make. It's not really a new title. Yeah sure there's link and all the things you'd except but for me that's the problem with games at the moment.
Before the sequal used to be such a dynamic change. Sure it'd keep the stuff that worked but more in terms of mechanics. The game would change to the point where it'd be offering you this new experiance and new elements would be at play. I'd say even titles I'm looking forward to such as Uncharted are guilty of this. Sure there's new things happening but in all fairness (Bare in mind I think the sun comes out of Uncharted's butt when I say this) what's differant except the train being changed to a boat and a plane?
I think a good example of what I want is Violition games. They go out there and change certain things to see if it'd work, their games aren't all the game, for example Red Faction was an FPS, then a free-roam TPS and then finally a storyline based TPS. You get a differant experiance every time. Zelda seems stuck in a rant. Also what is up with the villian?! He looks like gay clown Malfoy.

Agreed on that point Timewarp. Thats why with the RPG i'm designing i'm trying to add in some radical, but cool new elements.

I am actually looking forward to Skyward Sword. And the villain is actually interesting to me--and I dare say, I'm excited to see his character. ^^
