I can't believe that no one's mentioned this game yet!
It was the most popular release of it's time, tipping the scales in favour of Sony.
Now, don't think me a traitor, because I love any game that has a good storyline, or at least a decent one.
... Hence why I like the Kirby games. I like the main storyline as such, and ignore Kirby pinkiness.
And why I really love Legend Of Zelda, mother of all good storylines!
But, back to Crash Bandicoot.
One cool thing about this game is its originality.
Every level has a clearly defined path, though they can get surprisingly difficult.
The actual levels themselves were revolutionary for its time.
While Ocarina of Time had nice settings, and was overall a good game, Link didn't quite fit in with some of the backgrounds.
* Hints at when you're outside the Temple of Time *
And also, Crash Bandicoot was out around the time Majora's Mask came out, I think.
And that game was good, but had no hope against such a carefully planned and designed game.
Crash actually looked like he belonged to his environment, which was carefully made.
Especially the jungle levels; each tree, each bush, was carefully designed.
And also, the storyline wasn't bad, and the bosses each had their own individual originality.
Overall, possibly Sony's best game... well, maybe...
It was certainly the most popular.
Now, some ask, 'Why not a Nintendo game?'.
Well, the answer is simple.
Playstation was the only console with enough memory to run the game.
N64's catridges had become outdated, and Sega Saturn, erm, I'm not sure.
Playstation was the only answer.
I really don't like Ty the tasmanian tiger though.
He's a cheap rip-off of Crash, and deserves to die a painful and horrible death.
(Actually, I've never played a Ty game, but they sound... Rubbish.)
Please could no one get huffy with me and complain?
I hate it when I have to start arguing...
Plus, if you haven't played all the Crash Bandicoot games, and payed special attention to each of the storylines, then you can't complain until you have.
Heh.
Unfortunately, the recent Crash Bandicoots are...
Well, less than impressive.
This is because the original makers of the game, Naughty Dog, switched to Jak and Daxter, which might I add, was a bad choice.
Traveller's Tales took over, and haven't been doing as well...
But anyhow, that's my opinion.
How about yours?
