you know for some reason this just reminds me of how you always hear politicians saying that this generation wants to grow up to be doctors and astronauts but the education system is preparing them to be maids and janitors. Considering they've been say the same thing since my grandfather was a child, why isn't the world any cleaner?
But on a mildly more serious not, being an author doesn't mean *pop* I made a book off the top of my head. Tolkien technically started making lotr in 1918 and only published it in the 1950's. Even then he hated it. Mostly just remember that very few people make a full career of just writing. How else you going to pay the rent in between each book?

I agree on that: you can't making writing a book your full career. However, it is great having the ability to publish when you're ready. Like write on a story(or stories) in your spare time if you want. Then you could get it published if you really want to. And, here's another thing, you won't always get published the first time, but keep presenting it to people and you eventually will. Plenty of authors have had to do that. PLENTY. ;]

Well, Blaze, take inspiration from everything you enjoy. I do that sometimes, I twist ideas I've already seen into something completely mine in the end. I do that plenty, people just don't notice it. So, don't give up, ok? All you need to do just think on it for a little bit. And if you get stuck, go do something you've never done personally. New experiences in your life actually creates more creativity and ideas for stories. So, just don't give up, give yourself some time. Ok? You can do it! ^_^

What FM5 said is right, I no ones noticed the way I use small ideas by other people and change them around as a story devolops. Besides, life is the biggest inspiration. For example, Miyamoto based a Chain Chomp around the time he was attacked by a dog but it bounced back on a chain. Pikmin is based off his own back garden and the idea of wandering around caves with a lantern in Zelda is something that Miyamoto did himself when he was a kid.

Lol, don't you know? He's the Nintendo Master. XD *laughs*
Anyhow, I do that too. I even give chars my own emotions or reactions, I do it CONSTANTLY. So, just keep an open mind, think of all the possibilities, and your stories will improve greatly. Trust me. We all started off writing badly, terribly. It comes with experience, like all things. ^_^

hey blaze. its your choice if you want to be an author or not. i mean, no one is in control of your destiny. so keep trying, or stop. it is always good to take a break.
