For about two months I’ve been drawn into the religion of Wicca (witchcraft). And also I’ve hade a lot of stick from other people. The people I’ve had the most trouble with are Christians (I mean no insults in that statement). I know a lot of people on TLCR are Christians so I want to set the records straight. Meny people think that Wicca are evil, that we cures people and sacrifice people in our rituals. That’s all rubbish Hollywood and the English catholic community.
This is a snippit form my “book of shadows” “First of all WE ARE NOT SAITANISTS! We don’t even believe in the devil, that’s a Christian concept
A short history
Ok, now that’s over and done with lets have a little history about the wiccan religion
The earliest record of Wicca goes all the way back to stone age times, where holy men would pray to mother earth for a good hunt, call on the elements of rain, the list goes on.
Later when the Christian religion became strong with the coming of Jesus. The catholic high church didn’t like the fact that they had another strong religion living amongst them, that and that they were afraid of what they didn’t know, they took the fact that our religion involves calling on our gods for assistance in life and immediately assumes that we can also cures people and where all evil. WRONG! The first law of Wicca is “harm none, because whatever you do it will come back at you 3fold”in modern language the Wicca rede (by the way these where called the burning times ‘because when they found a “evil witch” they burnt him/her)
After that all Wicca where hated (especially in America)
And then the modern days came. People became more susceptible to new ideas, And so the Wicca religion grew again confident with the new “treat every one a equals” way of the average persons life.
Back to the “burning times” the excuse was that the Wicca religion was against the Christian religion, well show me the passage where it says that ‘because I cant find it if fact doesn’t the bible say “love thy neighbour” not “torch thy neighbour” any way lets not get into insults here were all friends now.”
Another rumor that has cropped up is that we use our rituals to harm people, wrong. The Wiccan rede (basically the equivalent of the 10 commandments) states that. “An' ye harm none, do what ye will Follow this with Mind and Heart Merry ye Meet and Merry ye Part” it means harm no one ‘cus whatever you do you get it back three fold.
We are just like you we live normal lives, we have jobs.
I hope this has cleard up alot

I'd like to say, every is... Entitled to their own opinion. I'd also like to say, I never said that Wicca was immensely incredibly evil, like all that. And, heh, no, I won't torch ya. I mean, it's your life Hack. I'm not gonna scream, and cry, and beg you to convert. That'd be... Well. A bit stupid really. You choose your path Hack. And be sure, we would never disown you. I mean, no where, in any of the Bible, does it say: 'Thou shalt judge people, and burneth them upon thy bonfire.'Nah, that's not how we're meant to think. Afterall, all are equal... So, if it's your decision, I won't try to stop you. Just... Remember to think things through, okay? And Snake... DO NOT insult me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, without being called a: 'Papist claptrap'We never stepped on your feelings, you chose to join the forum. If you don't like Christians, leave the forum. 'cos I ain't going anywhere!

Whoa... A very deep thread here. In some ways, it's interesting to see. ^_^ Hey, Hack, it's good to know some of those things. I find different religions very interesting, even if I am a Christian. To know different people's religions is good - that way, no one steps on each other's toes, ya' know? Hey, as long as you respect my beliefs and I respect yours, we can always be friends. People shouldn't judge others by their religion or race or..well, whatever! ^_^ We just all need to respect one another and treat everyone as we would want to be treated. I have nothing more to say.
