Yeah, I'd been wondering the same, buuuut I didn't want to say, since sometimes people (Like me) get annoyed when peeps draw comparisons. Still, that's a great character to draw inspiration from - She was certainly the coolest thing in that movie.

Well, I wouldn't say it was drawing a comparison. I was inspired by Miss Spider and Spider-man both, but I built something completely unique for a setting and backstory that is also completely unique and out of my norm far as characters go.
Same goes for Candy Corn, Ace, and the other two characters planned. They all had something to inspire me, but every character is distinctly different - even from each other.

Well, I think Amy will be pleased.
Ace will be next up and his construction is built. Now I just have to draw it all and color and what-not. Though I just hope my wrist holds up - I get carpal tunnel pre-symptoms at times that warn me to STOP everything...
But I have so much I want to dooooooooooooo! XD
Especially since I have a new keyboard! :3

Wait no more! (Man, I'm exhausted now. XD) Full View - Click Here!Ace was immensely easy once I got his construction down! Woot! I love how all-around normal he looks and feels, but at the same time very very handsome. Short details cuz I'm tired: His jacket and pants were crazy to get the right shading, hated it, but it was still simpler than compared to, oh, I dunno, like FM5 for ex. XD I had to create his SHOES and his BAG myself. No help available, and it turned out fiiiiine. ^^ I love his eyes and glasses. Which he has reading glasses in next post, hence why he has them. Just fyi if you were wondering. ;] BEDTIME! MORE FILLINGS TOMORROW. *dies* |

Yours is prettier, but mine's messier. And I prefer mah characters messy.

And he won't always look so pretty - the city can be harsh, yanno? ;]
I'd say if someone was looking at both images, they could tell which character it is. They really look very similar, so that's...well...ACES! Hahahaha! XD
(God, I'm tired. Now I'm just being stupid. XD)

PROJECT COMPLETE!! Are you ready? I hope I am! (Omg so excited!) Full Image - CLICK HERE! I KNOW, RIGHT?! *DIES*
Uhhhhhhhh!! Took forever!! I-I don't even know what to SAY! It all started when Ames asked me in a PM if she could use the original fanart I made of CA and Alex, and I'm like, yeeeeeeaaaaah of course you can dudette!! And then she re-drew Alex, and I'm thinking, WOW waaaaay different, right?! So then... I had an idea. I set out to do another fanart of these guys. I took old ideas that Ames had before, some new ideas she had now, and my old ideas, and BAM! ONE NEW BIG FANART! ^^ Details? Yes, yesssssss! Ok, so... Both characters were a BETCH at one point or another! XD Alex. I started with Alex and thought, heeeeey he'll be easy, right?! WRONG! That friggin' coat of his, with all the LIIIIINES! Aaahhgg! So annoying! But I'm glad I kept at it and gave it my best because I didn't look at anything and I made that coat totally bitchin'! ;] Definitely had a lot of help with his plaaaaaaasma power there and his wacky-do hair that proved to be very difficult to get just right. But otherwise he was cool. Plus I love his shoes... I did that without looking, too. Crystal Amy. I NEVER want to draw her AGAIN. Not if she has crystals! Why?! Because there are NO PICTURES WITH ANY CHARACTERS ANYWHERE WITH CRYSTALS LIKE THOSE. None. I drew all them(yes, them lol) crystals and, OMG, who knew I could draw crystals?!?! D: They turned out AMAZING. I have no idea what Ames will think, but I love those shiny rocks now that they are done. XD Her hair flow and generally upper body had a lot of similarities with my past picture. I did away with the sword and shield because, hey, why make my life harder? XD Aaaaaaaaand I added some gloves, that friggin' annoying SKIRT, and leggings and boots because I can and did. I had a LOT of help on her using like 8 different pictures for construction (while Alex had only two pics I worked with as aid) and had to constantly got back and forth between looking at how crystals are even FORMED to try making what I drew! She was a study, for sure. @_@ And now there we have it! ^^ Like? Huh? Huh? :3 |

You gave them such cute clothes and they look so awesome. I love Alex's expression. I've always wanted them to be drawn more human-like instead of how I always drew them and it makes them look so badass. Alex is like: "You really wanna fight with me? you're gonna get plasmafied." Whereas Amy is: "You're so gonna die."

One little favour though... Could you possibly make this into a banner I can throw in my signature? It's that good that I wanna show it all over the site.

I just wanted to update now that I have a better idea of lighting, shading and that awesome little brush that makes details a whole lot cleaner and prettier. It's like the characters just went under a focus lens of a camera for a beautiful portrait! ^^ And I LOVE this! I'm glad I did away with the original concept of Alex, too. I like his pose better here, his expression, his style, and the VERY important fact that he is next to CA and not behind her! Can't be a good sidekick/friend if you're in the shadow of the hero, am I right? :3 I absolutely can make you a banner of them! ^^ Did you have any preferences for how the background should be? Any text at all? Did you like the text I used above, etc? And I can make it a fairly large image too as long as it fits them both pretty equally. I'll make it look good, whatever size. :3 And YES! I agree with Haunter! They do have that 'CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER' to play feel to them. I could easily see them in a video game now, with all their awesome powers and history together. My sister Shelley sees a lot of my work in-progress, so she even said that they look like something out of Final Fantasy and/or Soul Caliber now. Which that made my day, too. I was going for a similar feeling, and I nailed it. ^^ |
