Many a time. My first shiny was a Rattata in Fire Red in Cinnabar Mansion. It was gold. ^^.

Pokemon Y for me started getting really cluttered with pokemon that I assume is either downloaded or hacked. But as I kept getting traded pokemon from random strangers, that leveled the playing field for me because they would just GIVE you stuff.
I had some very generous random folk.
That's why my dex is complete. O.o
Only shiny I have legit is my Fennekin I hatched.
It's a Delphox now, but I named it Keaton after Zelda.
Otherwise I've never nicknamed my pokemon before. :3
Have you ever finished a game and enjoyed it so much you restarted it back-to-back to play it all the way through again? ^^
