I think I remember saying that I'd sign up on your forum a looong time ago! But, being the klutz I am, I entirely forgot. (By the way, it's Deanna!) *edited for more detail because that was an awfully vague introduction* Now that that's out of the way...I'll introduce myself! Bwah-hah! I am Deanna (oh, wait, I just said that). I like drawing, writing (mostly short stories lately), astrology, tarot, making video games, and other geeky things that are currently escaping me. Oh! And I know Flamemaster from real life when we worked together at some place that apparently sells the best things you can buy or something like that. :V This will be the second forum I actually visit. The first is an game maker forum called RMRK, which I moderate for (along with many others). P.S: The background on this forum looks awesome!

OMG! DEANNA!! ^^
This IS a major surprise! Just to be fair... If you had joined earlier, the old look might have put you off - it was starting to do the same to me and I made it. XD That was something odd 7yrs ago or so...
Anyway! GLAD GLAD GLAD to have you here! ^^ My writing friends here actually have heard of you, even if I didn't mention your name, when I'd write about how hellish my life was back in Texas, that you were my only real friend there when I was working at [JOB HERE]. :3
Welcome to TLC! It feels SO good to say that again!
Hey, that challenge for Short Story writing on RMRK you mentioned to me on FB I'm looking at right now as I write this - I couldn't wait until tomorrow - and I think I just HAVE to be a part of it, even if no one likes it. XD I like to read my own nonsense. And I'm proud of that. XD

I know, I'm pretty excited, too!! I managed to submit one short story, and I've been tinkering with another!
And even I surprised myself here! I've been meaning to talk to you again lately, so when I saw your post as I was trying to make my friend join in, I thought "OH MY GOSH. Bree will love this!!"
This is going to be awesome!

In case anyone at all is reading and interested in the subject at hand, I encourage you to take a look at the challenge as well when you're feeling froggy! Yes, froggy. My mom says it. Don't look at me like that people! XD RMRK - Short Story Theme Challenge! The link above will get ya right to the action if you're up for it. ^^ Just wanted to share this, as not much gets me excited anymore, so I thought it was pretty grand!

I'm glad you're excited over it!! I just submitted my second one and am feeling pretty good! Hopefully, I did okay with it. I had one of my friends look over it, but I think he was drunk when he did. No, seriously. O.O

Hi there Deanna! I'm a random internet person! From the internet. Boot anyway, me and fellow member Timewarp are working on game makings as a career path, so nice to see someone with some (Sort-of) common ground! Hope you enjoy this forum which is basically sort of uber-awesome.

Aha! 'Tis good to see that the legends were not mere hearsay! I would recommend RPG Maker VXAce for anyone looking for a simple, yet powerful development tool. B) It's pretty basic, though. I'm a hobbyist when it comes to Game Making, so I just stick with it! *edit* RMRK is dead right now, so I'm making a few posts around here! Be warned: I'm a chatty one.

Actually, RPG Maker VX Ace is what I'm currently using. So I will go back in time and give myself the message so that past me who isn't using RPG Maker VX Ace will get the message and catch up. The slacker.

RMRK looked fairly lively when I went there. Or maybe that was just the loyalties being loyal - I have quite a few of those here myself, and I'm glad they're here! :3 Which reminds me... I noticed it was very white when I checked in on there. My forum JUST got to looking better, and so if the admin on RMRK forum needs any help at all - big or small - I may be able to help on that. It's amazing what you can do when you feel more enthusiastic. ^^ So, you've already got 2 stories? AH! I need to look at those and decide what kind I want to write first. It'll be hard keeping it short though. I'm not good at that. XD Ever.

Sorry I'm late to the party (as usual)
It seems everyone has introduced themselves apart fro me, so I'll put in my little introduction.
*please don't ramble, please don't ramble*
Anyway, I'm CS Revolked, also known as Amy to a select few. And As you can tell I've been here since 2007 (I suck at introductions >_<)
My hobbies mainly include writing fanfiction and some original stuff and of course my video games. I'm currently really into the Final Fantasy series and it's nice to have someone new around here. The place was getting a bit stagnant really
*bricked*
But, yeah, it's nice to meet you Deanna.
It's funny because I was discussing the film/movie Frozen in one of the my lectures about Gender Stereotypes and how Frozen actually dismisses the 'submissive female' and has a very strong female lead (I haven't watched the film/movie so please forgive me if I have any inaccurate details).
It's a stark contrast from what Disney used to be like. It's also prevalent in the film Tangled where the female lead actually is strog and smart and doesn't rely upon the Prince Charming figure. There's a lot of subversion going on.
And I've sorta rambled which was what I didn't want to do so I'll end it here!
Have a nice time at TLC. I'm sure you won't regret it *evil, maniacal laughing*

It's nice to meet you! B) And don't you worry about rambling! I'm famous for that!
Anyways, you seem to be right on track about the gender stereotypes thing! In fact, Frozen actually pokes fun at them in many cases. First, the apparent love of chocolate among women (I'm willing to concede on that one). Second, the desperate female (Anna) that wants to find true love more than anything, contrary to the opinions of her wise, independent older sister (Elsa). I can't say which sister is right in this case, because it's a bit of a spoiler. :x
Then, of course, there's the stereotype that Kristoff (the blonde guy) states: "all men pick their nose and eat it". Then, he proceeds to make fun of Anna for her desperation to be in a relationship.
But the great thing about this is that all these stereotypes aren't implied to be accurate, but rather made into jokes to poke fun at them. So, pretty much, you were right, haha. B)

Hmm, yes. Thanks for clearing that all up. To be able to fully understand it I'd need to watch the film/movie obviously, but what you've provided me with helps me gain a great insight especially when I remember what I was talking about a few weeks ago. To be fair, I need watch all the recent Disney films, there is such a big changing in attitudes that I'd need to watch them and compare them with the 90's 9and earlier) ones to be able to analyse the change. I mean, look at Princess and the Frog (touchy subject, eek), all the Disney Princesses were displayed in the same manner. Thin, beautiful, Caucasian... Then we get Tiana who totally subverts this and we have one of our first major contemporary black Disney Princesses. This adds to the line-up of Mulan and Pocahontas (the latter has actually in recent timed been 'adapted' for want of a better phrase to more Western audiences). I think Disney really ahs changed for the better, I don't know about you. Also, if I'm missing any other DPs, please tell me, my memory is shot right now.

Wreck-it-Ralph is more Pixar than Disney, but I'd also recommend it. I actually think the Disney movies are starting to get better than some of the older ones. o.o I went back and tried to watch some of them and realized that they just didn't quite appeal to all age groups as well. And if they did, it was usually stuff that they snuck in as a prank that went just a bit too far. o.o But I still like them, too. B)

I gotta say, I loved the Princess and the Frog. I forgot about that one, as I've only seen it once, but that was instantly a wonderful film to watch. Yeah, even better than the old 90's ones. :3
Tiana was a great princess! ^^
I gotta catch up for sure on the new stuff. Sounds exciting!
