Well, well, well...

It has certainly been a long time.

Just yesterday I had the thought in my head about this place like I was subconsciously drawn to it. Places like this never truly leave you. The imprint they make never relieves itself.

How is everyone? I know I haven't talked in a while and part of me does apologise for that. Know that I still think of you all, however, and memories of our time here together come back to me from time to time.

Some of you may be wondering what I've been up to...!

Not much, obviously, pandemic and all but... I'll make an attempt at giving some sort of insight into what I've been doing.

- Started my PGCE this last January. Looking to become a Primary School teacher.
- Got into RWBY about two years ago and now a big fan. Also started watching Achievement Hunter. Can't say I watch Death Battle though, TW, not my jam. My favourite RWBY character is Yang and my favourite AH member was Fiona, but she left earlier. Not to proud to admit I had a crush on her, lol.
- Found out that I have a genetic difference called Sensory Processing Sensitivity which explains a hell of a lot about me.


So, yeah, I'd day that's the important stuff. Oh, I'm about 2/3 of the way through the first draft of my novel so that's good.

Curious to know what's up with everyone!

And, yes, likewise, this forum really has been a huge part of all our lives, and it's lovely that it's still here, a place to peek in on, Timewarp's really been holding down the fort like a pro.

Good to hear that you're started on that PGCE, Tymki and Anoirtac are both teachers, although China going nuts sort of put them out of their foreign-language-teaching jobs, unfortunately.

I'm hopelessly out of date on RWBY, I watched it back when Season 1 was still fresh and new and in mint condition packaging. Has very gewd fight sequences!

On that Sensory Processing Sensitivity front, good that you got that recognised! I still don't know shiz about what's going on in my brain, was scheduled to eventually get it looked into but then Corona happened so I think that minor shiz got shelved.

Oooh, and 2/3 through a movel? Niiiiiiice! That's impressive!



Me, uh, I'm currently working on putting out a couple of YouTubey video things, just some fun stuff for people to enjoy. I also got into running Tabletop RPGs, whiiiiiiiich are remarkably similar to the old RPG games we played (And still have saved) on this here forum, so that eats up a lot of time, buuut people genuinely seem to enjoy the games, so that makes the effort worth it. Not a whole lotta income, but meh, used to that by now.

Hey Haunter! Great to see you. It's great to hear that you're doing tabletop rpgs a d stuff. So, do you host rpg games and other stuff as a source of income then?

Hopefully the YouTube stuff goes well. You've always been good at creative stuff so no doubt it'll go well!

Tymki and Anoirtac were going to teach in China? Wow, what an experience that would have been. Shame to hear it didn't take off.

RWBY is just about to head into Volume 9 and I am super psyched about it! Low-key just want Yang and Blake to be properly together now, the slow-burn is killing me!

Yeah, being a Highly Sensitive Person has its challenges but I wouldn't change it for anything ^^

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not for income sadly, that'd probably be more pressure than I could handle, though I'm actually working on a couple of new me-made rulesets to eventually maybe sell online in .pdf form for other DMs! I, uh, I try to keep busy. XD

Oh, no, they DID teach Chinese kids, but it was via online video chat things, but now the government's making mandates and doing questionable things so the companies that did that are no longer in business.

But, yes, glad shiz is going well with you too! These are uncertain times, so it's good to know old friends are in safe places.

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well, I've mostly been playing games, reading manga and talking Death Battle. BTW the consensus on the next one is Popeye is winning cos their current high-end feats has Popeye at star level and Saitama at planet level (Saitama survives a blast that scorched the planet's surface while Popeye has damaged the sun multiply times), can survive reality being turned off oh and toon force go brrrr.

The power scaling in old-timey cartoons was ridiculous, Felix the Cat makes Thanos look like a drunk toddler on rollerskates. That analogy didn't really mean anything, but no one can stop me from making it.

There's this guy Dz on the Death Battle fandom site who keeps presenting outliers for DC, Mortal Kombat, Naruto and anything else he likes and he'll derail any conversation with an argument about why the characters he likes wins using outliers and out of context nonsense to the point where he keeps getting temporary bans for being hostile,

and the moment he's allowed back he goes right back to what got himself banned in the first place. At this point he's either a troll or so unbelievable thick what's getting him banned. I mean he makes these sad little death battles that are glorified spite matches to "Get the fight right this time" and makes polls like "Batman Vs Spider-Man" only to yell at everyone voting for Spider-Man and demand we all agree Batman wins. (He doesn't Spidey has the stat trinity, is equally as smart and hax via spider-sense)

I thought Hulk Vs Broly was wrong but imagine if I brought it up every five seconds, made a sad little battle where I ignored 90% of Broly's feats and had the fight start cos Broly ruined Hulk's sandwiches also Hulk can sense energy and can siphon all energy cos then he beats Broly.

I hate to rant but this guy is just sad. I almost hope he's a troll because he's been crying about Batman Vs Iron Man since september and Batman Vs Spider-Man and Batman Vs. He hates Batman losing. I honestly might leave the site for a while if Deathstroke Vs Taskmaster happens cos honestly I can Masters winning that (Deathstroke can't handle Batman, Taskmaster took out BOTH Spider-Men AT THE SAME TIME!)

And, well, as I've mentioned, Death Battle isn't necessarily an accurate method of gauging who's the strongest. For instance, Taskmaster defeated 2 Spider-Men, ergo who would defeat Batman easily. However, looking at the evidence, I think Taskmaster would lose against Clayface, whose combat abilities of superstrength, morphing physiology and also shapeshifting (If we're not including the 'melts people into goo on physical contact' thing) would render his ability to read movements completely null, save for perhaps seeing through a shapeshifting disguise. In fact, Wikipedia even mentions a time Taskmaster lost against a cartoony character by trying to imitate cartoon physics, only to reak his spine in the attempt. And, if Taskmaster loses against Clayface, who loses against Batman, who loses against Spider-Man, all these squares make a circle. So, Deathstroke defeating Taskmaster or vice-versa is entirely plausible either way.

In a prolonged engagement, Deathstroke is a much bigger deal in DC than Taskmaster is in Marvel though, soooo with resources and preparation time, Deathstroke would have it, he's less a boxer and more a chess player, presumably like wut Kingpin is. But I reckon they'll be thrown into a one-on-one scrap, which much more leans in Taskmaster's favour, because Taskmaster's specialty is their first fight against a foe, in order to utilise the element of surprise. Not to say that Taskmaster is dumb or anything, more to say that Deathstroke is smarter.

Holy crud Spider-Man has a foe called the Human Fly, that's Killer Moth-level of wacky villainy and I likes it.

The thing is though Deathstroke loses to Batman in the same way Taskmaster beat Spider-Man. It'd mean Tony has to be around Peter's speed, strength ect so that would place Taskmaster at around city level while Deathstroke who routinely loses to Batman should be multi-city block at best.

Even if you factor in specific gear Taskmaster has Deathstroke beat because he's faced off against guys like Hyperion with his gear and can work around that healing factor of Slade's as he's had experience taking down people with WAY stronger healing factors like Deadpool and Wolverine.

Also is Deathstroke smarter? The whole thing with Taskmaster is he only takes in anything that relates to survival and fighting so he's a one-man army who can't recall what his own mum looks like. Heck the only way to actually beat him is to switch between fighting styles so fast that Tony can't keep up and again his reaction and fighting speed should be on par with Spider-Man whose a lightspeeder so I doubt Slade could do that.

Honestly I think there's very few Batman Vs Spider-Man fights where the Batman character wins (Clayface Vs Sandman being one of them) take Black Cat Vs Catwoman. Selina can dodge machine gun fire, Felicia can stand in the middle of it.

Well, if Taskmaster only takes in stuff relating to combat style and survival then, well, by definition, yes, Deathstroke is smarter, because... He knows other things? Jack of all trades is master of none, but master of one tends to look pretty dumb outside their area of focus. Combat style knowledge isn't going to mean shiz if your opponent knows to simply not engage you in direct combat and focus instead on ambush or hit and run - For instance, luring you into a building that's rigged to explode.

I'm not saying that Deathstroke will win in a Death Battle-style 'throw 'em in a confined space and make them duke it out', I'm more saying that particular style of combat heavily favours Taskmaster whilst ignoring most of Deathstroke's advantages entirely - Same goes for their Batman Versus things, honestly. Of course, that involves examining psychologies, number/quality of minions and whatnot, which is extra work for Rooster Teeth, and very subject to misinterpretation.

Although, true, Batman characters tend to be entirely within human limits, so generally their power level is quite a bit lower than Marvel's. That's essentially down to genre, Detective Comics versus Marvel Comics, it's really all in the name. Still, Batman's Scarecrow beats Marvel's Scarecrow X3

The thing is though that would be related to combat and Deathstroke is more likely to fight Taskmaster head on. I honestly think if you look at their stats, who they scale to and their gear and equipment that Masters wins more often than not and if you give them prep it's even worse cos he could find footage of Slade and just use that to prepare against him and before you ask where he'd find the footage Taskmaster has found footage of just every EVERY fighter of the Marvel universe and Slade's been captured by Argus.

They'd have footage of Slade for TM to watch and learn from via the Suicide Squad. Hell Taskmaster is the kind of guy Amanda Waller would have hunt down escaped Suicide Squad members who got away.

Or, y'know, the kind of guy that'd be IN the Suicide Squad, depending on the situation. X3

Still, showing Taskmaster footage of Deathstroke is, again, only useful for learning combat techniques, which we've already covered as Taskmaster's sole area of focus - It's same the reason why Taskmaster is middling on the supervillain hierarchy, rather than, like, owning entire islands or killing X-Men on a semi-regular basis. Taskmaster is a dedicated specialist, whereas Deathstroke is an all-rounder. The way to beat a dedicated specialist is to not play by their rules. Of course, maybe I'm ill-versed in DC comic lore and Deathstroke is actually a dummy that'd run up and try to bop Taskmaster on the noggin, but in that case his IQ is lower than the majority of C-list Batman villains.

Then again, comics tend to wax and wane in terms of writers and their respective abilities to be good.

The thing is Taskmaster is still able to take down some tough opponents, that's what makes this interesting. Both characters have faced a lot of people in the Marvel/DC universe I mean you call him a specialist but Masters has mastered just about every martial arts and has a ton of gear to replicate everyone from Spider-Man, Captain America, Moon Knight, Wolverine and Hawkeye.

I think Taskmaster would win in the end. BTW I've got my cruise holiday this year which I was supposed to go on in 2020 so hopefully that goes ahead also the site is bugging out big time. Seriously it's acting all weird, I might change my profile and see it it helps.

I suppose, in the end, so long as the fight's a good spectacle, that's the main thing - And at least there isn't a character conflict in this one, since both are very murderousy. Regarding Taskmaster & Deathstroke, I mean.
