She'd had a heart murmur ever since she was a kitten. But 6 months ago it became quite serious. Turned out her heart was twice the size it should be and there was fluid in her lungs as a result, making her breathe fast.
Then, shortly after christmas, she'd had a cardiac arrest. I think. Apparently she'd started miaowing weird, but by the time I got to her at the vet, she was lying on mum's lap, breathing heavily and rapidly and unable to move. But then we sent her to margate where she got overnight treatment. She seemed to be okay for a week, although she didn't eat. She did drink a lot, so I thought she'd be okay. But on monday the 3rd, I couldn't sleep and around 6:30 am, her back legs stopped working. And because it was a bank holiday, we couldn't send her to the normal vet. So we sent her to one in birchington, who wasn't useful at all. So we waited until tuesday and sent her to the vet in margate. They said that as a by product of her heart complaint, which was serious by now, her kidneys had stopped working, and that had made her back legs stop working. They said they could give her treatment, but that she'd have to stay with them. So we left her there and went back home. At 2:40 the same day, the vet called and said she was dead.
We've buried her underneath an olive tree at the foot of the back garden, and hung some pictures of her up on the living room wall.
Still hard to understand that she's gone. She's been with us since I was 5. When Catriona got ill, when Dad left, when Chris got epilepsy, whenever I've been depressed, she's been there for us, curling up on our laps and giving us something warm and soothing and loving to stroke.
Of course, she was more than that.
Oh god, I have have to stop before I cry again. Phew, end post.

Ok. I am truly sorry.
At least she is in a better place now.
She is looking down on you and is miaowing at you and in those miaows she says she misses you dearly.
