Wow that sucks, to be honest I didn't think girls did get turned down. I thought as the guy it was my job to make the move and then possibly get rejected by the girl, hence why I don't make the move. Ever.

Oh yeeeeeeah girls get turned down, too, if they are brave enough to go after the guy they want!
So, I'm downright courageous for even chancing it. ;}
I'm doing better now.
I figured out that Ray is just a young boy still - him being 19 and me 22. I don't always feel my age due to my inexperience of the world, but I AM older and I know what I DO want in a relationship, and Ray simply doesn't know at all so far (but I didn't know at his age, so I can't be too hard on him).
No, what I needed was a psychologist to smack me around with honesty and tell me I've been putting myself in a defenseless position by my father, and letting people in general control how I feel about ME.
I won't allow it anymore!
I feel invincible today.
I am so badass today that I walked around campus and intentionally stared at people until they looked away first. I am the feral queen of the jungle now, so they better watch out!

I don't want to come off like I'm reinforcing sterotypes but I guess as a guy it perhaps feels slightly intermidating if the girl is older then you. I mean all our lifes we're taught that the older a person is the more wise and superior they are to you, we're taught to respect our parents and our elders.
It's not Ray's fault bare in mind. Society constantly puts forward this idea through the media that the man is suppose to be the older one. Most of the time you watch relationships on TV the man in the relationship is older so we naturally think that this is how relationships work. Even though TV is balancing out this "Father Knows Best" Ideology it's still going to be there, not in the way that us men think we're better or anything but small things like the man being older still play in our minds.

Yeah, the only girl i've dated was 5 months older than me. I wouldn't be able to go much older than that, it would feel too weird. Generally, it's a lot better to stick to people the exact same age as you give or tae 12-18 months.
