I know that, Brosef, I do. It does depend on skill but GS also lets you see if a character is built enough for a certain raid, too. I myself am not strict on GS with people: like let's say someone wanted to go on ICC10, and they had a GS of 4.9k, I'd say yeah come along. Most people only would take GS of 5k, or like 5.2k on ICC10.
So, yeah, I'm not overly insane on the numbers.
But they do mean something at least.
You wouldn't take a guy to ICC10 with a GS of 2.8k.
You just WOULD NOT.
Believe me, even with skill, they wouldn't make enough to down bosses fast enough.
So, yeah. XD
Anyway, it kinda is good to tell you what others(no matter how loose or strict they are) expect from you on gear when entering a raid. I play just fine, but no one would let me in Ruby Sanctum until my GS was AT LEAST 5.5k--which I'm a little over now. I probably would have been fine at 5.4, but... No one would ever accept. : /

Take into account that WoW has gear locks on their game aswell meaning that if you can do it, you are well enough geared.

Yeah its so that a really undergeared lvl 80 cant do some HCs that (s)he would alwyas die in.

Actually, there may not be but Blizz are considering to put them on, to stop people from using GS too seriously.
On a lighter note, Rogue = Annoying now.

They should put gearlock on raids, and they could put raids on LFG system if they did--no more waiting for your server to get a raid together. XD Took 30mins just to START ICC10 last night.
Now that is annoying. XD

Took down Deathwhisper Last night, average gearscore 4.8k min 3.7 max 5.9.
Proof that nubs use GS.

I didn't say that noobs didn't use gearscore. In fact, GS is just an addon, it doesn't make anyone special. XD
Anyway, I want to try out Ruby Sanctum soon.

I am a lvl 59 Death Knight now...but I still not sure which abilities to use. I've looked at DK build and it says a good rotation, but I can't use one of the abilities as I don't have shadow infusions.

All buils online are for lvl 80s lol, which sucks a bit cos they will only work til December 7th.
If you need help levelling however ask me, and ill rattle about with you when im not busy.

DK dps is nerfed but buffed somehow, if that makes sense. Sure I'll help you but I will be busy with other things like my Drood or my Rogue lol.
