I guess I'll make a history of Mechanos V. Course since he's older than the all creation I might as well make it some major event. -------- Characters of Chapter 1: Cilis: A saurian race that had existed for millenia. They used advanced technology to go as far as colonizing several nearby systems. They are actually the little known ancectors of the Human, Elf, and Dwarf races. But their direct ancectors are the infamous Lizardmen. General Yisss: The Ancient designer of the Mechanos-class battle mech. He is of the Cilis. Mechanos V: Battle mech made to lead the lesser battle mechs into combat in the name of the Cilis Empire. The Vong: The ancient ancectors of all of the Orc and Goblin races. Unlike they're offspring they were highly intelligent along with being muscular. ------------ [glow=teal,2,300]The Mechanos Chronicles[/glow] Chapter 1 Genesis When I first gained conciousness I was still on the assembly lines of the Cilis Foundry. I still had yet to have motors installed and such but I could still see my surroundings. It was massive. Hundreds of different mechs were being made from the diminutive pet mechs that little children played with all the way to the Enforcer war tanks that I would eventually ride into battle. But I was supposed to be the most grand project of them all. An absolutely indestructible battle mech built to lead other mechs and even Cilis soldiers into battle. Of course at this point I knew none of that. I had less intelligence than a cilis newborn fresh from the egg. Eventually the assembly line reached a critical point. It stopped and A probe connected to a small port on my head. It then proceeded to dump all the needed programming for me to be a commander of unmatchable experience. The only comparison is suddenly having memories in your head of the exact troop positions of every war known to Man in your head along with the eventual outcome. It also put in the apropiate personality for our designated roles. I was to be a battle front general. This ment I was going to be the one leading my men from the front. It also ment I had experience in all forms of melee combat and even in marksmanship. I was supposed to be the perfect leader. After the 20th Mechanos they changed the roles. These Mechanos were supposed to have about the same role but were meant to fight more in their beastial form. They were the Berzerker models. They would charge into the middle of an enemy group and then unleash a mechanical fury on the poor sods. They were actually ment more to support us first twenty than to lead men. After about forty of those came forty of a different varient. They were known more commonly as Dark Mechanos due to their role as special ops. They were actually only 4' tall compared to the 12' of the first two variants. They were made for absolute stealth. A promo actually had the old black ops model try to sneak up and steal a handful of gold from a dragon. The poor bot was ripped to shreds as soon as it entered the room. The Dark Mechanos on the other hand not only got a handful of gold but it doubled the income of every employee in that facility for about 5 years. They made exceptional theives and with exterior plating that made it appear at a distance to be a Vong it was quite a develish little bugger.
When I finally got off the assembly line I was taken, along with the other first twenty models to a small blank room. We were told to wait. About 16 seconds later an image appeared on the wall of a Cilis male in a generals dress uniform. He said, "Ahh my 'children' have awoken. You may wonder why you were created or perhaps what your specifications are. We chose not to program that in since we have found it usually has unwanted results. Well let's get to business." "You were created to fight in our eternal war against the Vong." At this point an man like creature appeared on the screen. It was quite muscular and had many rows of teeth. Also they had an extremely malevolent look in their eyes. It was like looking into the heart of darkness. "We have been fighting these vile creatures since the days we were still using rocks as weaponry. They had the major advantage until to beginning of the Clockwork Revolution. That was when the first clockwork creation was made. With it we could counter the vongs relatively fast reproduction rate by making mechanical warriors. You are the latest version of that ancient clockwork creation." When he had first mentioned the clockwork creation an image of an ancient rusting machine appeared. It was relatively primitive with a full exposed internal structure and even a crank on the back for rewinding it. It was little more than a toy it appeared. "Oh my I just realized I forgot to tell you who I am. My name is General Yiss. I am the person who designed you and the God Steel your skeletal structure is made from. Now that I've done that I can get onto telling you about your load out and armaments." "You are built to be the Generals that will lead the troops directly from the front. We have older models that have filled the role of commanding generals but none faired well in direct combat. Thus you were designed to be a cross between the hyper intelligence of the older model Commadore command mechs and the frontline war mechs such as the mighty Enforcer war tank. But unlike most cross overs we have done before you will be better than both models at what they do. For one thing each of you inside your head has enough memory to last a few millenia. Added to that you each have a small moon sized station that acts as a reserve for memory should your built in ones overflow. This will make you 100x more intelligent than any existing command mech. As for your armaments and armor they are quite exceptional. You have two forms each with their own advantages and uses. The form you are in is the Humanoid form. In it you are armed with a flamethrower that can shoot a stream of burning napalm for about a minute at total. You also a flak cannon that can be used for anti-air operation if nessesary. To top this off you have a rather large blade made of adamantium. It is built into your right are on a hinge that wing cause it to swing out like a switch blade. You also are equipped with a gauntlet style sheild that can deflect even artillery shells. It to is built to unfold out of the arm on command." "Your second form is the saurian form. It is built to look more like our none sentient ancestors. You are armed with adamantium jaws that can snap even a steel bar in two. along with this comes your two front sets of claws and a tail blade all of which can easily shred any armor that the Vong may be using. And to top it all off you have a retractible artillery cannon built into your back with a mile range." "As for armor you have some of the most indestructible metal as your frame. It has been called God Steel due to the fact that it would appear even a god could not effect it. Sadly we could only refine enough to make about 100 Mechanos units' internal structures so we had to cut back making the rest your armor and internals are made of adamantium. Also we have added small nanites that self replicate to your internal structure. They are linked to your central processor and will repair any damage you take during you battles. They will be sheathed in compartments in your God Steel skeleton so they should be able to survive any thing you should happen to face. Along with this you will Have modular pods so that we can update your armor and weaponry easily. With all these features you could easily last beyond the age of the universe. But that likely won't happen."
I truly doubt he knew that one of the mechs in that room would live hundreds of times that long. But then fate always did like a bit of irony.

I'm going to try to pop in a new chapter every day I'm not busy. I'm mostly doing it as a reference for any rp stories I use him in. When you play with a character that is this flippin' old you have to refer to his history a lot.

Chapter 2 The 5th Legion When I got my first assignment about two weeks later I had finally become acquainted with the troops I would lead into the fight. Most were to be mechs of the type we called "Grunters" since they were really the lowest ranked mechs out there and not to mention they're affirmative answer sounded like a throaty grunt. They were probably also the most adaptable since they could use any weapon system or vehicle they came across to devastating effect in a battle. Next were the actual Cilis soldiers. They were mostly used as engineers to make sure we were running properly. They never actual were in the direct combat but they were nearby taking down notes on performance for the use of upgrades. Then same the heavier units. There was the Atlas assault artillery that would keep the enemy at bay until the mainline troops were within range. Those things were just a walking rail gun as far as anybody could tell. They didn't even have a programmed personality. Also there were the mighty Enforcer Battle tanks. These were quite unintelligent but then no one ever argues with a treaded machine that is armed with enough fire power to level a small city. These were meant to strike fear in the enemy ranks and also but also a prototype version was made for the Mechanos commanders to ride into Battle. They had 8 machine guns mounted in a radial pattern so as to cover all directions. It then topped that with its twin barrel turret that fired foot long shells. and then to top that off it was mounted with an anti air cannon meant to take out any sub orbital aircraft that entered the battle. Of course the prototype version replaced all the powder gun weaponry with the newly developed plasmatic pulse gun. These were named "Lasers" due to their similarity to many of the pop culture's idea of an aliens weapon of choice. These new guns effectively made the ammunition supply only limited by the generators fuel supply. To make sure that this was also fixed the old energy crystal reactor was replaced by the longer lived and far more powerful fusion reactors that had been around for about 50 years. Thus the resulting MK II could easily keep fighting for months if not years without refueling. Finally there were the command ranks. We had a few Cilis commanders that kept the engineers in line but other than that it was mostly captain class mechs. These were just walking brains that tended to get stuck up on them selves. None the less they were very crafty at maneuvers and took orders well. Finally their were my four seconds in command who answered only to me. they were two pairs of each Mechanos variant. They were Mechanos's XXVI, XXVII, LXXVI, and LXXVII. Both XXVI and XXVII were relatively similar. Their preferred answer was always the Sword. As for LXXVI and LXXVII they were a little more subtle. They preferred assassinations and sabotage. Together they were called a Legion's Fist. Since I was the 5th in the line of Mechanos's it was called the 5th Legion.
On the day we got the message that we had our first assignment we were testing our new Enforcer MK II out. Of course we immediately ended the session and loaded all the troops into the Cilis Dropships. They were, unlike most Cilis creations, very artificial looking. Where as most of the machines had animal like features the dropship was a diamond shaped craft with two delta wings coming off of its sides. They were armed with enough weaponry to clear out an LZ but other than that they were relatively defenseless. When all troops had finally loaded onto the dropships we took off toward what none of us knew would be one of the most pitched battles of Cilis history and though it was a victory it would eventually lead 50 years later to the collapse of the Cilis Empire.

I'm probably not going to be able to add much to the story these week due to college and a lock-in at my church I'm helping to set up. I will make a confession though. This stroy is going to be a combination of everything I like. We'll just say you could call it Back to the Lord of the X-Battlestargate Wars and the Raiders of Foundation Episode I: The Phantom Ringworld. Somebody PM me if they can name all the references there. We may have a new forum game right there.

Chapter 3 Zero Hour
Our first battle was to be a small border fight. The Vong had been making rather bold raids into Cilis territory. The lastest was a rather large contingent of raiders. These would have been easy enough for any border patrol to deal with but they had been reinforced by about 3,000 berzerkers. Standing at roughly 15' tall they were a match even for an Enforcer. They went into such a blind rage that they would actually keep fighting even after being decapitated. We were being sent in to eliminate them and any one else who decided to aid them. We landed about a mile behind the main battle and started to form ranks. The other Mechanoses would lead the Grunters into combat while I would take the Enforcers through the center. When all was ready we gave the commands and began the march toward the First Battle of Gaduk valley. Gaduk Valley was a rather wide valley with a river running through it. It was a temperate climate with deciduous type trees lining the riverbanks. After the battle though it would be a century before it even began to look like that again. As we crested the hill we realized what we were in for. The reports had stated about 30,000 raiders backed up by 3,000 berzerks. After a quick count we found about ten times that much. We knew this was about to get very ugly indeed. The new revised plan was now to call for back up and engage as best we could. I lead the Enforcers straight at the enemy forces while the rest of the Legion made a pinser attack. When the Enforcers finally hit the enemy ranks all hell broke loose. The pulse cannons mowed down Vong like weeds until one of the Berzerkers made a lucky leap. The reptile landed on the cockpit cage and started to rip through it. I unhooked myself from the tank and locked my sword an shield into full combat mode. He made a swipe with his broadsword but that was rather easy to block with the shield. My swipe of course went right through is shield and disemboweled him at the same time. I decided at that point it might be better to take to the battle on foot since by now the improved Enforcer was starting to get overrun by berzerkers. As I hit the ground About twenty berzerkers and raiders decided to engage me. That was their last mistake as only one of them managed to get a hit before they died. Of course that one hit managed to paralyze the beasts arm and make him unable to defend himself from the next swing. After about an hour the battle seemed about won. The Vong were starting to fall back over the hill so we decided to give chase until they went back over the border. As we crested the last hill before reaching the border we finally saw the Vongs newest weapon. Until that point we had never known the Vong were capable of bioengineering to such a level. But when we saw three Behemoths charging us there was no doubting. They were easily 5 stories tall with six legs to support to tower on its back. The Atlas artillery immediately let loose on them but even the mighty rail guns. Immediately a retreat was called. Of course the beasts could out run us. When they started getting close I decided to do the unthinkable. I stopped and turned to face the beast. I didn't know it at the time but even in the beginning the Powers That Be had already chosen me as there represenative. As the beast came closer I locked my both my sword and shiled at the full position. When the creature finally came thundering up I started to spin my torso and extended both sword and shield out. As the creature stepped down the foot was sawed into slivers quite cleanly. As it brought its weight down on the foot that was no long there it tripped and fell down on me. The blade kept cutting into the beast until I emerged full out the other side. But even then the carnage wasn't over. The other two had been following close behind and couldn't stop themselves in time and also came crashing down of the blades that sliced them clean through. Finally the battle appeared to be over. But even then The Vong wouldn't give up that easily. They brought in more troops. I could go on for days about every event that happened but all that is needed to be told is that we annihalated about 3 million Vong raiders, 1 million berzerkers, 1,000 behemoths, and 20 heavy vong bombers that showed up near the end. I might also wish to add that the battle took about 4 days with no breaks or lulls. We finally had our first taste of Hell.

Well I guess its been a while. If there are any anctual fans then here's chapter 4: Blockade. Oh I could use comments to know if I should change the format or somethin'. Really I just want to know someone actually is reading this. ------------ CHAPTER 4 BLOCKADE
We went through several battles after that but none were as brutal as that original crucibal. Our next assignment was to do colony defense in a nearby system that had recently come under attack from a Vong invasion force. We were going to be dropped right into the middle of a Vong camp and then wipe them out. Of course this whole plan didn't account for the blockade that had been set up while we were in transit. As soon as we came out of hyperspace we were set upon by hundreds of Vong fighter drones. Our defenses on the Dragoon transports were good enough to take down maybe 50 or so fighters but we were dealing with enough to take down even the greatest of the ships-of-the-line. Eventually with our shields taken down and each turret systematically turned into slag we knew what would come next. They were sending in boarding craft. Everyone readied themselves for the inevitable. When it finally came It was in my sector of the ship. An explosion ripped a hole through the hull and in came pouring Berzerker Marines. Each was armed with a rather large sword, chaingun, and enough explosives charges to cripple even a large space station. They were experts in all forms of melee combat and had the muscles to back it up. When I started to engage them it I wasn't even sure if I could survive. We had lost on Mechanos when the Marines had managed to cripple him and then eject him into deep space. Even though he was still functional he was as good as gone since we would never be able to find him again. As the first wave came howling at me I engaged all dueling protocols I had in my memory banks from beginner to Grand Master Duelist. I managed to parry every strike with the newly installed duel sabres. Of course it didn't help when another one joined in. I managed to kill the first one he made a slip up. The second went down soon after. At this point I was beginning to realize that even with two sabres I was having a hard time defeating them. But as I looked around and noticed the many machine parts laying around a solution struck me. As another wave started to pour out of the hole I grabed two Grunter arms and prayed to whatever god governed machines that this would work. I shove them deep into the sides of my abdomend and prepared to defend myself. Suddenly A as I had hoped both arms became active and perfectly under control. Both of them grabbed a Vong chain gun and as the first of the front runners rounded the corner they let loose a spray of bullets. Any vong that even showed itself was found its head on the floor as the gun cut clean through it. When the last bullet was spent the arms dropped the gun and grabbed one Vong sword each. It was time to make a final stand. As the first four made to strike all my arms went onto automatic. Every time they stopped they blocked another swing. It was more of a dance than I fight. Every few strikes one of the arms would find an opening and stab a Marine through a vital area. Even when eight of the beasts decided to engage me not one strike made it through. This whole event would later result in a four armed variant of the Grunters that was made specifically to count the Marines. When the fight was finally over. I was up to my waist with bodies. As I made my way to the hole I found that none were left alive. As I looked around the boarding craft I found that it was actually a frigate of some sort. It had with it a full squadron of about 10 Vond fighters. As I walked toward the dock both the arms fell out as they disconnected. Now it was my turn to cause some destruction on a genocidal scale.

Yes I know the name of this chapter was in Republic Commando but then again it was such a cool name I had to use it. Chapter 5 To Own the Skies
A vong fight is made for the use of the specially bred Vong subspecies known as a Drone. They lack much of the musculararity of their terrestrial brethren but make up for it with acute vision, quick reactions, four arms, and most of all the ability to withstand about 20 G's of force. Also they took the Vong mentality that the individual was useless compared to the collective by using their craft as homing missles when all ammunition was finally spent. They were both deadly and fearless making them extremely viscious pilots. They also were only about 4' long so that ment I had to rip most of the seating and canopy out before I could even fit. When all was said and done only my upper torso was sticking out of the cockpit while my legs were plugged into the main computer panel. I figured as long as I didn't take a missle to the head I would be relatively safe. Finally after all systems had been activated I put the throttle to full and came rocketing out of the hangar at nearly twice the speed of sound. Immediately a voice came over the intercom. "Fighter sssiksss three ssseven, we have no record of your sssquadron being ordered to take off. Prosssede to land in hangar Alpha Gamma Pheta or you will be terminated." In the time that he had taken to say that I had gotten a lock on him and fired a torpedo right as he finished "terminated." Of course he screamed a line of profanity over the com right up until the torpedo hit the bridge. The speaker was likely blown away in the blast or sucked out the hole into the vacuum of space. Almost instantly ever gun battery let loose on me and all fighters began to converge. "Well this should prove interesting." The weapons batteries were easy enough to dodge. Most were meant for more sluggish craft so they could never hope to keep a lock on the small agile Vong fighter. Even the guns meant for anti fighter purposes were still to slow since they were made to target the Cilis fighter/bomber that though tough and durable was quite slow and hard to turn. The fighters were the real challenge. They could match me turn for turn and also they likely had explicit training in dogfighing. All I was working off of were old space battles and the manuevers that had been used in them. Mostly I made it up as I went along. The first squadron of fighters numbered about 6. As they came up on my tail I gunned the engine to get room and then did an immelman that would have ripped the gut out from a Drone. The next thing the lead knew was I was headed straight at him with all my guns firing. He and the pilot next to him went screaming towards the planet in flames. Vong never did install ejection seats. The other 4 split up and began to try to get on my 6 o'clock. Of course I was never going to let that happen while electricity still flowed through my circuits. I decided I would pull a little trick on them. As I made another immelman I aimed my shotgun and fired at the cockpit. I'll never actually know if I killed the pilot or damaged the controls but either way the fighter went head long straight into one of the cruisers. Immediately all the other fighters realized what they were dealing with. Judging from what I decoded on their com channel they had assumed it was I was a Cilis pilot. Now they knew they were dealing with a Mechanos unit. The order went out for all fighters to just ram me instead of even trying to dogfight. Suddenly all the fighters changed their course. Every last one was headed at me and were conserving ammunition so as to cause the maximum amount of destruction. "They want to hit something then let's give them something to hit." With that I went hurtling at the nearest cruiser. As I was about to hit I pulled off and was flying about five feet above the surface of the ship. Most nearby pursuing fighters slammed into the ship while all automatic guns pummelled the surface mercilessly. The cruiser went down in a smoldering mess. Vong never did install escape pods either. The same tatic actually worked quite well until the last cruiser. Their were only a few fighters left and most of them were veterans who knew the absolute limits of their ship and also how best to organize their attacks. They would never be stupid enough to slam into their own ship and knew that eventually I would make a mistake. I decided now might be time to unleash the one thing I had been holding back. The bombs on a Vong fighter were ment to be launched and then would fall towards the nearest gravity source. They also could be trigger remotely so as to cause maximum devistation when people finally came to find out waht had fallen. I shot the fighter straight away from the planet. As expected my pursuers followed behind relatively close. As I went up i shot one bomber striaght forward. Due to the orientation of the fighter the bomb went flying upwards and then began to slow down. As my fighter caught up and was about to hit it I jerked the control so it looked like the bomb was a component that had fallen off. The enemy fighters saw it coming and manueverd around it. Right as they came level with it the bomb went off. All the fighters were destroyed instantly as the mini nuke went off. The rest of the fight was simple with just the last cruiser being the only resistance. Finally we would be able to land on the system.

Chapter 6 HOT DROP
The planet we were now in orbit above was mainly a made of jungles with a few seas in between. From orbit it was a beautiful planet. Only one thing gave away the presence of the Vong. The Southern hemisphere had a small blackened patch in it. The Vong had burnt the forest for about a square thousand miles and set up camp there. That also was the bullseye of our operation. The other Mechanos's and I would make a manuever that no other mech model could perform. We were to be dropped at about 100 miles above the surface with no vehichle or such to protect us. Our adamantium armor was graded for re-entry and when we hit the ground it wouldn't even scratch. Then we would unfold from ball form and clear the general area so that the remaining dropships could land safely. As we readied for the operation many thoughts went through our collective heads. What if we came in at the wrong angle and bounced off into space never to be seen again? What if were burnt up on re-entry and only our God Steel internals hit the ground? What if we did make it through the atmosphere only to end up a twisted heap of scrap? What if when did survive all those senarios only to die at the claws of the vong?
Despite our doubts we never once considered backing down. If we tried any other tactic then we would fail.
Mechanos XXVI summed it up fairly well. "Theoretically dead if you do. Theoretically dead if you don't." Finally the moment came. We had our shot gun and flamethrower removed so that two wrist mounted anti-armor rocket launchers could be installed. We also had replaced the sabres with twin cleavers for spaecial use with our heli sword manuever. With all preparations made ready we curled into our balls and rolled into seperate torpedo tubes. One-by-one we were launched at different spots in the black patch. Re-entry is quite a thrilling experience. As the air around you turns into plasma you can't help but pray to something. Even if you don't have a soul. In the ball form I was essentially blind so other that the roar of the air and how the precious metal decarations melted off there isn't much to tell. As for the landing it was quite an experience. The crater was about 100 meters across and was easily enough for the drop ship but I still had to create enough of a buffer zone. I uncurled from my ball and immediately recognized the sent of carbonized Vong. Most hate it, I love it. The shock wave from the blast had killed even more around the crater but once the survivors recovered they came at me with a vengence. As they closed the distance the twin cleavers popped out of their compartments and my upper body began to spin faster and faster. This was about to be quite a blood bath.

Chapter 7 CORRUPTION
The battle was a tactical victory. Sadly it was a loss for all existence. Mechanos XXVI went down early in the battle. We never found him and assumed they had managed to launch him into space or some such thing. We never caught the stealthed ship that managed to get past us. They had disabled and kidnapped him. Deep within Vong territory they changed him. You can't torture a machine they say. That only applies to machines that don't have the intergration hardware we have. They managed to hook a device that into his neural network that would cause him to have a pain like sensation. He broke down after about 2 minutes. After that they injected a virus into his network. He was reprogramed to kill any living thing that wasn't Vong or of Vong creation. They also made sure he would follow their orders at all times. The next time we saw him was about 10 years later. We were on a mission to hunt down some unknown entity that appeared to be killing settlers on the edge of Cilis space. We didn't know it until later but it was XXVI who had done it. We had tracked a set of prints that we believed belonged to the culprit. It was actually a decoy creation of the Vong. When we came to the end of the trail we found XXVI battling with what looked like a Berzerker mutant. It was muscular in the extreme and had heavy metal plates under its skin. Autopsies later revealed that they had actually grown there instead of surgical implantation. XXVI was lock with it and was trying to get his sabres into its throat so that he could decapitate it. It was all an act of course. He was going to be a mole and would silently tear the Cilis apart from the inside out. When XXVI finally did win he told us that he had spent the last 10 years in deep space after being lauched out a guass cannon. His memory did confirm this but that too was a plant. As we walked back to the dropship we didn't yet realize we had the second biggest threat to the Cilis Empire in our midst. But the Vong weren't the number one. The number one threat was still festering under the grounds of our first battle. It was waiting. Waiting for the right moment to strike.

Chapter 8 DECLINE
Our first clues that something was wrong came with the death of several. of our leading Cilis generals. No two were the same except for the fact that all had served more than 50 years and there were no camera records even recorded. All cameras in the area would go blank in about a five mile raduis five minutes before the murders. Even the designer of the Mechanos unit suffered such a fate. We had had problems of moles in the past. Usually they were bribed officers or perhaps even a Vong that had a structure that looked like a Cilis. Most of these were either rooted out by checking banking records or doing a genetic test of the suspect. But we never could turn up a culprit. We even tested the Grunters to see if perhaps one had gone corrupt. Only one General ever suspected that one of us Mechanos units may be the culprit. As if to dismiss this the murderer executed him in his office using the Vong's traditional execution axe. Who ever it was they were good. That axe should have given anyone away. We immediately knew this had to be a very elaborate operation done by the Vong. Of course at every meeting the real culprit was sitting next to me. He had top knotch access to every system. He had used this to cut camera feeds, edit existing records, and most of all used the storage compartments in his body to carry the axe. Eventually every general with over 50 years of experience was eliminated. Immediately the murders stopped as suddenly as they began. Now the only experienced general were the Mechanos units and the Captain-class mechs. Even the Captains were taken out when their their collective memory bank was mysteriously erased. Now only the Mechanos's could effectively lead the troops into battle. With only 17 Mechanos commanders still functioning we were hard pressed to hold the Vong back. XXVI then went dormant in his espionage roles. For the next 39 years he was almost normal. The only real sign of his corruption was that he tended to be rather hard on the Cilis engineers under our command. Other than that he did exactly what was asked of him.

Chapter 9 THE END AND THE BEGINNING The final collapse of the Cilis Empire, unlike most empires, did come with a roar. Also it was moment of the Vong empires collapse. On that first field of honor a new weapon had been tested. The Vong had created a virus meant to wipe out the entire Cilis species. It of course hadn't worked. But something of it had survived. It had mutated several ways. It now instead of killing it victims would mutate them severly. Also it now would infect Vong. When it took hold it mutated everyone it struck. The Cilis mutated into a primate like creatures that would eventually become Men, Elves, and Dwarves. Meanwhile the Vong mutated into small hunched crosses between a reptile and a mammal. These would eventually give rise to the Orc, Troll, and Goblin. When the plague first broke out I did something that I was programmed to do only in an absolute emergency. I uploaded every file of Cilis culture and technology onto into my memory core and shut down in a pose like some sort of suit of armor. All Mechanos units, including XXVI, did this. The Cilis had theorized that if the Vong did win that there would be at least some small enclave of Cilis left. The Mechanos unit would act as a time capsule to ressurect the Cilis Empire. They never did count on the whole species getting wiped out. I sat there for about 50,000 years before I reactivated. In that time I had become a bit of a local legend. Though I couldn't move until activated I could still sense my environment. The Cilis decsendants, now calling themselves the troglodyte, were intelligent enough to make small tribes with their best tools being rock and bone. The ones nearest to me saw me as some sort of idol. I watched as their society evolved through the ages. They never remembered the Cilis. I don't blame them since by the time they would have care about such things only odd rocks remained. They thought they were the first and thus I must be some sort of monolith left by the gods to symbolize some sort of promise. After about 50 millenia the different races had finally fully evolved and they had reached the medival age. They were even now starting to use early forms of guns. A shrine had been built around me by this time. They had named me the Sentinel. This came about because even though I was completely immobile I defeated one of the greatest threats to the kingdoms of Men. The Orc warlord Moggi had untied the scattered orc tribes under one banner and began conquering and human territories and slaughtering every man woman and child. They had heard legends of the statue that had been around since the dawn of time. I had been used as a symbol for many of the kingdoms and thus Moggi wanted me destroyed. When he finally found me he ordered his grunts to cut my head off and replace it with the head of one of their dark gods. When the grunts failed along with even the elite soldiers Moggi executed them all and chose to decapitate me himself. He swung his great war axe and didn't leave a dent. He of course didn't want to look like a weakling in front of his horde so he swung again and again. He made a final blow and grabbed his chest witha shriek. He toppled backwards dead from a heart attack. His sons and commanders started a civil war for control while the kingdoms began a major counter offensive. Thus when they reconquered the territory I stood in they made a shrine around me. I was supposed to be sent by the gods to watch over Men for all eternity. Of course this all ended when one of the priest was holding a surmon and accidentally pressed the button that was meant to reactivate me. As he turned back around to face his flock he noticed they were all staring at me with eyes that were a little more wide than usual. As he himself turned around to face me he found that my eye sockets now we glowing a cold blue. Of course when he panicked so did the worshippers. As the last one went screeming out the door all my systems finally came back online. I sat down and waited. They would be back eventually if even only just to kill me.

ok If this story actually has any fans (I seriously doubt it does since no one ever seems to comment) they should know I modified the last post. I'm also now going into a third person format so the courier font won't be used any more. Here goes. ---- Chapter 10 First Impressions Mechanos didn't have long to wait. With in minutes a few Knights walked in accompanied by 30 pike men. Though they had viewed him as some sort of guardian they thought that some evil spirit had possessed him. The Pike men surrounded Mechanos and were obviously quite nervous. He was fifteen feet tall and they were only about six. They knew who would win in that fight but they still held their weapons level. One of the knights stepped into the circle and drew his sword. "Ok demon prepare to die by the sword of Hannal!" Mechanos turned his domed head toward Hannal. "You are valiant but your fear shows through Hannal. I have no wish to fight." "Have at you demon." He swung his sword at Mechanos and it glanced off of the Adamantium armor. "Oh fine if you really want to." Mechanos raised his arm and clicked one of his 6 foot long sabers into place. Everyone gasped and several of the soldiers and even one of the knights wet themselves in fear. With a single swing Hannal was disarmed. With another he was knocked to his feet with the saber at the joint between his helmet and chest plate. "Do you give up?" Another knight drew his sword and charged Mechanos with a roar. He too was disarmed when the other saber clicked out of the other arm. At this point all the remaining knights and soldiers wet themselves. "When I said I didn't want to fight I meant it for a reason. Now will you just get some sort of leader for me? Some sort of Monarch, President, Dictator, perhaps even a Warlord." Mechanos lifted his saber from Hannal's throat. "Y-y-yes Sir. Right away." The soldiers and knights fled to get the local king. Mechanos got up and took a full systems check. He had done quite well for about 50,000 years of doing nothing but standing in the elements. His nanites had kept his armor in optimal state quite well. Even the charge in his shotgun was still as fresh as the day he had loaded it. his system check was cut short when a short portly man in robes wearing a crown walked in with two guards in blue armor with green cloaks covering their heads. This was King Rehab and his royal guards. Of course he was even more scared than the knights and soldiers were. As for the royal guard they saw Mechanos only as a challenge. They figured they would die eventually so why not die valiantly. Rehab bowed low enough to hit his forehead against the ground. "Hem. Oh mighty Sentinel what would you have this simple man do?" "For one quite grovelling like a man about to die. If I had wanted to kill you then I would have done so in the first place. Second my name is Mechanos V. It is has been my name when men were still simple ape like creatures dragging their knuckles in the dust. If you wish to still call me a Sentinel then make it a title at the end of my name. Thirdly I want to contact your race, the Elves, and the Dwarves wisest thinkers, most ingenious inventors, and most strategic generals. I have much knowledge that needs to be revived. That is all." "It shall be done at once Mechanos the Sentinel."

(Well I'm so bored I'm actually going to resurrect this thing. Of course I assume nobody will read it any ways) ------ CHAPTER 11 THE SECOND ORC WARS Within a few weeks the armies of Men had been organized into a formidable fighting force. Now also they had better technology. Mechanos had limited the technology to a reasonable level. He knew that if he gave them too much too fast the power would likely go to their heads. At this point he wanted them focused more on holding back the orcs. Recently a new warlord had apparently arisen. His only name was Ravager. He had organized complex raids that had seemed even more organized than any orc raids should be. None had seen the new warlord directly but those that had escaped the orcs slave pens said he must have been part giant due to the size of his shadows on the size of his tent. Mechanos decided to counter this with a wall along those borders. He took personal charge of the project and made the wall within a month. Any orcs that decided to raid the site were hacked to pieces by Mechanos's sabres. Orcs knew how to deal with a standard stone wall but Mechanos did something that no Man or orc could do. The outer sides of the wall were covered in a single layer of stone. On the inside of the wall was a foot thick layer of adamantium. Mechanos's nanites gathered the raw materials for adamantium and he could form it into just about any shape. Thus he created a 40' slab of adamantium only by releasing the nanites into the section between the two stone walls. The process was far faster than any human process could ever be. With the wall done it was time to wait. Mechanos knew it would be better to make an offesnive after they had used their resources trying to siege them. When the siege finally came the orcs were defeated easily. Their catapault shots bounced easily off the walls and their first battering ram shattered the first time they slammed it into the gates. Their next larger steel ram only got two hits before it too crumpled. The orcs retreated in utter disarray as they were cut down by the arrows of the archers and the shots form the catapults. Back at the orc camp the defeated army was greated by their warlord. "We tried our best master but the walls were too strong." The Warlord spoke from his tent. "If you had really tried your hardest none of you would have returned." There was a faint clicking noise and then a massive blade shot out of the tent and stabbed the squealing orc commander. The blade retracted and the tent flap peeled back. Mechanos XXVI stepped out into the open and pointed his sword at the next ranking orc. "I want 10 times as many orcs by the end of the week. They're going to be here very soon and I want to be ready. You pathetic worms can't lead your orcs so I'm going to have to. NOW GET MOVING YOU SON'S OF THE VONG!"

Chapter 12 THE BATTLE OF JAKODHA PASS Within the week after the Orcs' failed siege the Kingdoms of Men had formed a mighty army. With its masses of infantry, cavalry, and siege towers and weapons few believed the orcs would stand a chance. But when they finally reached the edge of Orc territory they knew it would be a long and grueling fight. The only known way into the Territories was through the Jakodha pass. The Orcs had heavily fortified the pass with walls and towers. These walls were manned with a species of Orc known for their extreme size and strength. When the towers opened up on the walls the soldiers inside were greeted by the massive weapons of these orcs. Worse yet the towers were manned by some sort of Orc that shot burning shafts by the hundreds. Men and machines burt into flames when they were hit. Through all this a single siege tower, larger than the rest, made its way towards the walls. There was no one that pushed or pulled it and it wouldn't burn when hit with the accursed arrows. When it reached the walls the Orcs readied themselves. But when it opened they were suprised to find their leader inside. Taking this suprise to his advantage Mechanos V sliced through them like a sythe. After clearing a sizable area he took out a massive hammer. Before any Orc could stop him he swung it high over head and brought it down heavily upon the wall. When it hit hidden runes on the hammer briefly glowed and then a crack formed. It spread in all directions and began to glow like the runes. Mechanos made a diving leap off the wall right as it desintegrated into dust. Mechanos got up and prepared his troops to ruch in and kill the defending orcs. But when the dust finally cleared there stood XXVI with his arms crossed and a sword over each shoulder. "Well we meet again do we now V? I had hoped I would get to deactivate the greatest of the Cilis warriors."
