Chapter 15 - More Training
Hannah circled the complex for a few moments before landing out of sight, just behind a large section of the building. “There has to be some way to get at her.” She thought. “But how?” She took off high into the sky again and looked down on the complex. She spotted a large skylight a little way away from where she had been hiding. “That could be it.” She said to herself. She went down to the skylight and cautiously looked inside. She saw the inside of the VR Training Room below her. “Excellent,” She said, smiling evilly. “Now all I have to do is wait for her to come in here, and her Suit will be mine.”
Meanwhile, Katy was looking for Carl.
“Carl?” She called. “Where are you?” After a while she went back up to her room. She sighed deeply. “I wonder where he is,” She thought. Just then, there was a knock at the door. “Who is it?” She called. “It’s me, Rouge” “Come in!” The door opened and Rouge came in. She looked extremely worried. “Rouge? What’s wrong?” Katy asked. “I can’t find Carl anywhere!” She explained. “The last time I saw him was with Tails when he went to get his Battle Suit upgraded…” “Did you ask Tails where he was?” Katy asked. “Yeah, he said he was in his room, but he isn’t there!” “OK, we’ll have to tell Sonic.” There was another knock at the door. “Who’s there?” Katy asked. “It’s Carl, can I come in?” Carl called. “Of course!” Katy said. The door opened again and Katy and Rouge just looked at him. Carl felt uneasy. “OK, whatever it was… I didn’t do it.” Carl said. “You haven’t done anything!” Katy smiled, “But where have you been?” “Oh, I’ve been in my training room.” Carl explained. “Training with my assistant.” “Oh, you have an assistant too now?” Katy said. “That’s great!” “I sure do!” Carl smiled. “But, uh… Rouge… why are you here?” “I was helping Spyke look for you. It’s time for you and Katy to learn how to use your stealth properly.” “Really? We get stealth lessons too?” Katy asked. Carl sighed. “What’s wrong Carl?” Rouge asked. “There’s so much to take in, in just one day… I don’t think I’ve sat down properly since this morning. You know, just to let some of it sink in a little.” Carl explained, and then hastily added. “Not that I’m complaining that we’re getting all this training.” Rouge smiled. “That’s ok, I’ll go and have a word with Sonic and see what he says.” She left the room and Katy turned to Carl. “So, I see your leg’s better!” She smiled. “Yeah, it’s a lot better… but it’s not exactly something I want to go through again soon.” He laughed. Rouge came back in. “Alright, Sonic said that you can take 15 minutes for a rest, and then you have to go to the VR Room to meet with Spyke.” She said. “Tails said that if you wanted something to eat, then you just go down to where you were this morning, and tell Natasha. She’ll show you how to work the food machine. “Did someone call me?” Came Natasha’s voice from the hallway. “Yeah, could you show these two how to work the food machine in the main hall?” Rouge asked. “Sure thing!” Natasha said smiling. “Let’s go you two.”
So the three of them ran down the corridors towards the Main Hall. Katy’s Battle Suit and boots gave her speed, just like Carl’s, so she kept up with them easily. Eventually they arrived and Natasha led them over to the corner and pointed out a large grey box on the wall. “This works the same way as your assistants.” She explained. “You think of what you want. Your assistant will communicate with the machine, and then when the machine beeps, you open the door and take out whatever is inside there. Katy, why don’t you try first?” Katy stepped forwards and silently communicated with her assistant. Carl couldn’t help but wonder who her assistant was. After a brief moment, the machine bleeped and Katy took out a tray with sandwiches on it. “Hey, cool!” Carl exclaimed. “Tails does it again!” Natasha turned to him. “I helped him design it.” Natasha smiled at him. “He said it was one of the best things he ever built.” “You designed this?” Katy said. “Wow…” “Alright then Carl, you next” ”Natasha. Can you get the machine to make some sandwiches for me too?” He thought. “Sure, I’ll sort it out.” VR Natasha smiled. After a few minutes, the machine bleeped and produced some sandwiches. “Alright!” Carl exclaimed. “Thanks Natasha.” “I didn’t do anything!” She said confused. “You showed us how to work it Natasha,” Carl said. “Well, that was nothing. I’ll leave you two to eat in peace, and I’ll go and tell Spyke where you are.” Natasha left them eating quietly and went down to the second VR Room where Spyke was waiting. “Natasha, where are Katy and Carl?” Spyke asked impatiently “They are in the Main Hall having some lunch. Sonic said so, so it’s alright.” She smiled. “Do you think they are ready?” Spyke enquired. “Carl seems to be progressing quickly. He really picked up his special ability quickly.” “Katy is also doing well. She managed to pass her power and special ability training in a matter of minutes.” “They both seem to be doing very well… but this is the first time they have trained together… maybe we will see that they are a disadvantage to one another.” Natasha said solemnly. “We shall see.” Spyke said, “Because here they are. Do not alert them to my presence.” Spyke went into the VR Room just as the door swung open and Carl and Katy raced in. “Natasha… where is Spyke?” Katy asked. “He just went to fetch something to help you with your training. He told me to tell you just to go on in, and he’ll join you in a second.” She lied. “Alright” Carl said. As they walked into the room, Carl sensed something powerful was in there and he grabbed Katy’s shoulder. “What are you…?” She started, but Carl put his finger to his lips to quieten her. “There’s something in here.” Carl whispered. “How do you know?” Katy whispered back. “I don’t know…I can just feel something.” Carl looked around the room. He couldn’t see anything different about it. “Just keep your guard up.” Carl warned. “Well done.” A voice came from behind them, making Carl jump as Spyke appeared out of nowhere. “You managed to sense that someone was in the room. That shows that you could have some small hidden power in you… we shall soon see.” Spyke said. “Sorry guys.” Natashas’ voice filled the room. “If I told you he was there, it would’ve given it away.” “Don’t worry about it Natasha.” Carl said. “Alright then Spyke.” Katy said. “Let’s get training.” She smiled. “This isn’t something that you will be able to pick up very quickly. You must learn to control your breathing.” Spyke said. “As well as teaching you to use your stealth effectively, I will train you to seek out those around you who are in stealth mode.” “Sounds useful.” Carl nodded slightly. “But first, I must get out of this.” He pointed to his Battle Suit. “This will throw off my senses. Spyke walked out of the room and re-entered wearing a trench coat “That’s better.” He said. “Now, let’s get started.” Alright, where do we begin?” Carl asked. “First you must activate your stealth. Press the red button next you your visor.” Spyke explained. Carl and Katy did so, and they vanished instantly as the visors appeared across their eyes. “Now you must not make any sounds and move to any part of the field that you want to. You have a minute to get into position before I come and try to locate you.” Carl went to walk off but he hit something solid. “Ouch…” Katy exclaimed. “Carl!” She said. “Heh, sorry Katy.” Carl couldn’t help but utter a laugh. “Alright, let’s try that again.” Spyke said shaking his head. This time they managed to miss each other and hid. “Alright then, I’m going to come and find you. Remember, you must not make any noise to give yourselves away.” Spyke told them. Carl remained silent as Spyke travelled across the other side of the small field. He was walking with his eyes closed, listening intently. “Katy, you are standing in front of the tree.” Spyke said firmly. “You need to learn how to breath quieter.” Katy made herself visible again and walked back towards where the door had been. “Alright then Carl, I don’t think you are going to make this easy for me.” Carl remained silent and breathed as quietly as possible. Spyke walked all the way around the field listening intently again. He couldn’t hear anything. At one point Spyke stood mere inches from where Carl was crouching. After five more minutes, Spyke stood in the centre of the field and raised his hand up slightly. All the trees and bushes disappeared. “OK Carl. Stay exactly as you are now, but reveal yourself.” Carl raised his hand to his visor and deactivated stealth. Spyke was looking in the opposite direction. “Uh... Spyke… over here.” Carl said. “Well done, you managed to pass your training, however I think Katy needs just a little breathing training. Carl, if you wouldn’t mind leaving for a minute, this needs absolute concentration, with no distractions… however, there is something you can do for me.” Spyke asked. “What’s that?” Carl looked confused. “How did you manage to breathe so quietly with no training?” Carl laughed slightly. “I may not have had training… just practise.” Carl smiled. “How? You have not needed to use the technique to my knowledge.” “When I was younger, my sisters were really annoying.” He laughed again. “What am I saying, they still are now. But anyway, they used to come looking for me so they could annoy me more, so I used to hide in the cupboard, and I just used to breathe really quietly.” Carl shrugged. “I guess that’s where I got it from.” “Amazing.” Spyke said. “To learn such a technique yourself is incredibly difficult. I must commend you.” “It’s no big deal.” Carl said. “It kept me away from them.” He said walking towards the door raising his hand slightly into the air to wave. “OK, so what training do I need?” Katy said, as soon as Carl left. “You need none…” Spyke said. “Then why…?” She started, but Spyke interrupted her. “All you need is this.” He pulled out a weapon from his pocket, but it was huge! It wasn’t something that you would keep in your pocket! “Could you just hold this for me?” Spyke asked, irritated. “Sure.” Katy took hold of the weapon as Spyke dug deeper and deeper into his pocket, pulling out a few more pieces of weaponry and handing them to Katy. “Ah, here we go.” Spyke said triumphantly. “This is what you need” He was holding something extremely small, smaller than his little finger. “What is it?” Katy asked, handing Spyke back the weapons and taking the object from him. “This will let you breathe quieter, by filtering out the sound from the breathing.” Spyke explained. “It will seem weird at first but you will soon adapt to it.” “How does it work?” Katy asked. “You swallow it and it will travel to your lungs, instead of your stomach. But don’t worry, it shrinks down first, and it is completely harmless to your body.” “Alright then.” Katy said. Spyke pushed a button and the object shrank slightly. “Put it into your mouth and don’t swallow until I say so.” Spyke said. Katy did so. As it shrank, Katy shuddered. “What’s wrong?” Spyke asked. “It feels weird.” Katy said. “It’s hard to describe.” “OK, you can swallow…. Now!” Spyke said, and Katy swallowed the minute device. She shuddered again. “That was really weird….” Katy said. “But thanks Spyke.” “It’s no problem. Now, let’s go and rejoin Carl and Natasha.” He pressed a button and the room returned to its usual, grey state, and they walked through the door. Sonic stood in front of them. “Excellent” Spyke said. “I had to give Katy that equipment, but she needed very little help from me.” “Well done Katy.” Sonic said. “But Carl and Natasha just went to the hangar. Carl is going to get trained for his vehicle.” “OK Sonic.” Katy smiled. “Will I get trained for mine soon?” She asked. “Yeah, but we can only allow two people in each hangar at one time and as things stand, both vehicles are in the same hangar for now.” Sonic explained, “but you can have some time to yourself for now. You have trained extremely hard today, and from what I have heard, you have managed to pass every test with very little difficulty.” “Alright Sonic.” Katy said. “I’ll go back to my room for now.” “I’ll send Knuckles to get your vehicle training later ok?” Sonic said. “OK Sonic.” Katy said and walked out of the room. Spyke turned to face Sonic. “Project PHOENIX is up and running now?” Spyke enquired. “Tails just finished it and is moving it into hangar 2 now.” Sonic said. “I see.” Spyke said. “Well, if I am no longer needed, I shall go back to my quarters.” “Thanks Spyke” Sonic said, and they both left the room.
High above them, on the roof, Hannah was looking in and heard every word. “So, over in the hangar are they?” She smirked evilly. “Well. Taking the Battle Suit should be easier than I thought. I can deal with that boy easily, and once Natasha is taken care of, her Suit is mine.” She laughed and took off into the sky, circling the complex… looking for the Hangars.

Ahh... Stealth... Nothing I like better than people not noticing me. And trust me, I do that a lot. Just make no footsteps, stick to the shadows, look inconspicuous... Or however you spell it... It's amazing how relaxed the senses of a human are in comparison to other creatures, y'know? Pick pocketing, if I was into that sorta thing, would be a cinch, if I had the opportunity to practise... Course I won't though! Anyhow, keep writing, and I'll read it as it continues.

Chapter 16 - Enter The WOLF
Natasha and Carl headed down towards the hangars, running through seemingly endless corridors and racing down several flights of stairs. "How much further is it Natasha?" Carl asked. "It's not much further now..." She replied over her shoulder "Just hang in there." "Alright then." Carl said. He put his head down and moved as fast as possible. Eventually they reached the hangers. Above their heads, they hadn't noticed Hannah land on the roof and sneak her way over to the skylight “This must be it” She thought to herself “I just need to wait for the right moment to strike.” She smirked evilly to herself and watched what was going on. “Alright then Carl, this is where we will train you in Project WOLF.” “Project WOLF?” Carl enquired. “What’s that?” “Project WOLF is the codename that Tails gave to your vehicle. But you can change it if you want.” “Wolf sounds good to me.” Carl said. “But where is it?” “Inside a VR Program, we can’t train you inside it in the real world in case something goes wrong… so we set up a special Virtual Reality program inside this room. I will accompany you in the program and show you the basics, but after that you are on your own.” Natasha explained, she indicated a small platform in the centre of the room. “Carl, stand there please.” Carl walked over to the platform and stepped onto it. Natasha pushed a button and a bright light appeared at Carl’s feet before he vanished. Natasha ran into the light before she disappeared along with the light. High above, on the roof, Hannah looked around the room for other signs of movement before cutting open the skylight and gently floating inside the room towards the control panel. “Alright, let’s see what damage we can cause here.” She said to herself. She began randomly tapping buttons on the control panel, but the control panel didn’t respond. “She must have locked it… I’ll have to just wait for them to come back…” Hannah snarled to herself before flying up into the metal rafters and waiting in the shadows.
“Natasha…. Can you warn me before you do something like that next time?” came Carl’s muffled voice. When Natasha had run into the light, she had rematerialized on top of Carl. “I am really sorry Carl.” Natasha said, stifling a laugh. “I didn’t know that would happen.” Natasha helped Carl to his feet before she walked towards a large blue, floating vehicle which had yellow circuitry lines criss-crossing around it. “Carl, this is Project WOLF” Natasha explained. “It is fully customized for you and you only. It has a small port to plug in your Battle Suit and interact with your Assistant while you are in WOLF.” Carl stood there… he didn’t move or say anything. Natasha continued. “It can also combine with any other vehicle we have… it may not be many, but when they combine these vehicles are deadly.” She smiled slightly. “What do you think?” Carl still wasn’t moving. “Uh…. Carl…. You ok there?” Natasha asked him. Still Carl did nothing. Natasha’s eyes grew fiery again and she launched a small fireball at his arm. Carl did not move… “Uh….Carl… your arm is on fire.” Natasha giggled slightly. “Wha?” Carl looked at his arm, and saw that flames were licking at his Battle Suit. He beat at his arm until the flames died down. “What did you do that for?” Carl said, slowly rubbing his arm. “Sorry.” Natasha smiled. “Do you like it?” “I love it!” Carl exclaimed, “It looks so cool!” Carl ran over to it and jumped into it. WOLF did nothing. “Uh…is it broken?” Carl asked. Natasha shook her head slowly. “Plug those wires into your Battle Suit.” She pointed at two small wires dangling from a small indent in the dashboard. “Be careful you don’t put them in the wrong….” Natasha stopped. Carl had put the black wire in the red hole and the red wire in the black hole and he was shot 60 foot across the room. Natasha ran over to him. “Carl…. Are you ok?” Natasha said, lifting his head up. His hair was stuck on end. “WOOO! That was fun; can we do that again?” Carl said, dazed before shaking his head violently and putting his hand to his head. “Oh…my head hurts…” He moaned. Natasha sighed and shook her head. “Yes, it will do. The wires were connecting to your brain where your Assistant data is… because you plugged them in the wrong way; it shocked you because it thought it was an incorrect user.” “OK, so I won’t be plugging those in the wrong way again.” Carl smiled weakly before standing up. “Let’s try that again.” Natasha said. This time Carl plugged the wires in correctly and WOLF started up. The lights on the control panel blinked a bright blue colour and a holographic screen appeared in front of him displaying the message “WOLF Systems ONLINE” “This is so cool.” Carl said. Natasha suddenly appeared in the seat next to him. “What’s next then Natasha?” Carl asked her. “I’m over here Carl…” Natasha’s voice came from behind him. She was sitting on top of a sleek black motorbike with white circuitry lines pulsing along its frame. “So then…this is my assistant?” Carl enquired. “That’s right, and only you can see me…er…her.” Natasha said, confused. “Hey, Natasha… where did you get that bike?” “This?” Natasha asked, “This is mine.” She smiled. “Tails and I modified it when I became a Freedom Fighter, so now it can do this!” She pushed a button and her bike changed into a small one-person jet. Carl’s jaw dropped open. “Pretty cool huh?” Natasha smiled widely. Carl said nothing but nodded slowly. “Alright, let’s show you exactly what these can do.” Natasha said, transforming her jet back into a bike and getting off it. She walked over to WOLF and leaned over Carl and pushed a small red button. The screen read “TUTORIAL”. “Man, you thought of everything didn’t you?” Carl said. “Welcome to WOLF, Carl.” VR Natasha said. “This is your tutorial for WOLF and I will guide you through everything you need to know.” In front of Carl, a long stretch of road materialized out of nowhere. “Carl, if you need me, get your Assistant to get me.” Natasha said. “Where are you going?” Carl asked. “To set up your test.” Natasha winked at him, before revving up her bike and blazing away over the crest of the hill in front of him and going out of sight. “Carl…” VR Natasha said “Are you paying attention?” “Huh? Oh, yeah… sorry” “Alright, let’s continue.”
Meanwhile, outside the VR Program, Hannah was growing impatient. “They have to be out of there soon. I’m getting tired of waiting… but I suppose it will all be worth it.” She said to herself. Suddenly the door opened and Rouge came into the hangar. “Where are they? Tails said that he left them down here.” She asked to thin air. Rouge went over to a group of cardboard boxes in one corner of the hangar and began rummaging around in them. “Here, we are.” She exclaimed and pulled out some machine parts. She lifted up the cardboard box and carried it over to the door. “I don’t know why Tails needs these so badly.” Rouge said, “They don’t seem all that important.” She set down the box and opened the door, before picking up the box and leaving. Hannah let out a small sigh, and slowly edged back over the platform that led to the VR Area.
Back inside the program, Carl was beginning to get the hang of how to control WOLF. “It is as simple as that.” VR Natasha said. “Just move the control stick whichever way you want to move and WOLF will move in that direction.” “Great.” Carl said, “Let’s get started.” “OK then, chase Natasha.” VR Natasha pointed in the direction that Natasha had gone in. Carl pushed the stick forwards, slowly…he didn’t move. “What’s wrong?” Carl asked. “You use the pedal to move forwards…remember?” VR Natasha said, “Pushing the stick forwards will make WOLF pull up into the air.” “Right.” Carl said and slowly pushed his foot down onto the pedal. WOLF moved slowly forwards. Carl pushed his foot down harder and harder as WOLF moved faster and faster. “This is awesome!!” Carl yelled over the engine noise. “Now, let’s chase down Natasha!” Carl was pushing the speed of WOLF to its limit! “Natasha, is there any music to listen to?” Carl asked. “Just pick something from your music player!” Natasha explained. “Think of some music and it will come out of the WOLF speakers.” “I choose…. MAXX Unlimited.” Carl said. Nothing happened. Carl turned up the volume, but still… nothing happened. “Natasha what’s wrong?” Carl could see Natasha’s mouth moving, but he couldn’t hear anything. “Natasha, I can’t hear anything!” Carl said desperately. Natasha nodded and began typing on the screen. “YOU HAVE BROKEN THE SOUND BARRIER. THAT IS WHY YOU CANNOT HEAR ANYTHING.” She wrote. “I get it.” Carl said. “So how come you can hear me?” “I AM INTEGRATED WITH YOUR MIND AND I CAN TELL WHAT YOU ARE SAYING” She wrote again. Carl slowed down WOLF to just under the sound barrier and music blared in his eardrums. Carl jumped and turned the music down quickly. In the distance he could see a dust trail and a black object streaking along the road. “I’ve got you.” Carl shouted. “Not quite.” Natasha’s voice flooded his ears. “What’s going on… how come I can hear Natasha?” “Intercom.” Natasha said. “Now, race me to the canyon.” Natasha said playfully. “You asked for it.” Carl taunted as her shot straight past her. “Don’t think you are getting away from me that easily.” Natasha laughed as she transformed her bike into a jet and blitzed past Carl. “I don’t think so.” Carl said and gave chase to her. “Bye bye Carl.” Natasha said. “Why?” Carl said with the slightest hint of a laugh in his voice. “Going somewhere?” “No.” Natasha said, “You will be if you don’t do something.” Up ahead was a large gorge and Carl was headed right for it. Natasha flew straight over it but Carl started falling down. “Natasha!” Carl screamed “Help me!” He shut his eyes tightly and braced himself for a crash landing into the bottom of the gorge. All of a sudden, WOLF transformed into a jet, formed a bubble-shaped roof around Carl’s head and took off into the sky. Carl opened his eyes. “How did…?” He started. “WOLF sensed that you were in danger and automatically transformed itself.” VR Natasha explained. “That….was….scary…” Carl said shakily. “Not giving up are we?” Natasha’s taunts filled his head. “I wouldn’t be so sure of that.” Carl said confidently. “Look behind you.” Natasha looked back… nothing but clear road. “Ha, I would’ve thought you were closer than that Carl.” “Closer than you think.” Carl said as he lifted his roof up and tapped Natasha’s dome surrounding her body. Natasha jumped and swerved off the road before regaining her composure and chasing after Carl. After several more miles Carl reached the canyon and bought WOLF to a stop. “Wow. Now that was intense.” Natasha said as she pulled up alongside him. “I didn’t think you were going to beat me!” “Well, you should never assume anything.” Carl smiled, “You never know what will happen.” He winked at her. “C’mon, let’s go back.” Natasha smiled back at Carl. A bright blue light surrounded them and they reappeared back in the hangar along with WOLF and Natasha’s bike. Natasha leapt off her bike and walked over to Carl. “I don’t know how you do it.” Natasha said. “Do…what?” Carl asked, confused. “Learn this stuff so quickly.” Natasha smiled. “It took me a while to learn it, but you have learned so much in just one day.” “Well, I’ve noticed that days are longer on Mobius than they are on Earth. So that means that I can get a lot more into the one day, than I could’ve done.” Carl explained. “And… I’m a fast learner too.” He smiled. Natasha smiled back at him. Before looking out one of the side windows. Nightfall was coming. “What are you going to do now Carl?” Natasha asked. “Maybe go and play some of my training games in my room. You wanna come?” Carl asked. She shook her head. “Not right now. Maybe later though.” Carl nodded. “That’s fine.” “Will that be a private party or is anyone invited?” Hannah leapt down from the rafters and blocked Carl and Natasha’s exit. “Hannah!” Natasha took a step back and prepared herself for a fight.

Chapter 17 - Hannah Makes Her Mark
“Well I’m glad that at least someone here knows me.” Hannah smirked. “But that won’t help you one little bit.” Natasha’s eyes flared a brilliant orange and she hurled a fireball at Hannah, who dodged it easily. “You’ll have to do better than that!” Hannah taunted before drawing two circular blades from the hilt on her back and she went into a fighting stance. “Prepare yourself.” She snarled. “Carl, get out of here.” Natasha said over her shoulder. Since Hannah had made her appearance, she had not taken her eyes off her. “NOW!” Her voice seemed almost demonic as she hurled two more large fireballs in Hannah’s direction. “No way, I’m not leaving you on your own.” Carl said firmly. “Be it on your own head.” Hannah yelled as she charged towards Carl leapt out of the way just in time, as Hannah’s blades struck the place where he had been standing. “Not fast enough Hannah.” Carl called as he turned around to face her. He generated the Fire Blade that he had used earlier and took a small step backwards. “Hannah, leave here now.” Natasha said. Her voice had become completely unrecognisable. It was almost as if she had become a different person altogether. She moved up to join Carl. “And you think that you and your friend here are going to stop me?” Hannah laughed faintly. “That was the general idea, yeah.” Carl said. He charged at her, swinging his blade towards her, but she flew up into the air. “Carl, over here.” Natasha called, as she got down on one knee and put her hands on the floor. Carl nodded. He ran straight for her and placed one foot on her hands as she flipped him up into the air. “Press the buttons on your boots!” She called to him. Carl flipped himself around and pressed the buttons on each one of his boots. A jet of Chaos Energy pulsed from the underside of each one, making Carl hover in the air. “Maybe I underestimated you slightly.” Hannah said, crossing her arms across her chest. “Or just maybe, I have you exactly where I want you.” She threw her blades towards Carl and missed him. Carl watched as the blades started to fly back towards her like a boomerang. What Carl hadn’t seen was Hannah flying straight for him while he was distracted and slammed her foot into his head. Carl spiralled down towards the floor but recovered at the last minute to land perfectly on the ground. “Carl, you alright?” Natasha asked, still watching Hannah circling above them like a vulture. “Yeah…. I’m fine.” He said, clutching his head. A small trickle of blood emerged from his forehead. “But this is something I could do without…” “Maybe you shouldn’t put your blade in where it isn’t wanted.” Hannah charged at him again, but this time Carl was ready. He leapt into the air and blasted her with a fireball. His shot found its target and Hannah hit the floor hard. “Lucky shot.” Hannah said, standing up. “But this time, you won’t be so lucky.” She raised her hand slightly and icy chains appeared at Carl’s feet, binding him to the floor. “Let’s see you fight now!” She said triumphantly. “Easy.” Carl said and generated fire at his feet. The chains melted away leaving nothing but a puddle of water. “You’re the one who is gonna have to try harder Hannah.” He taunted, but soon he regretted it. Hannah lunged at him, slashing his arms with her blades and punching him in the stomach. He hit the ground, but he got back up. “You… you aren’t going to stop me Hannah.” Carl said breathlessly. Blood streaming down his arms, but he didn’t seem to notice. All he cared about now was beating her, he just didn’t know how to. Carl started running towards Hannah and leapt into the air. His foot connected with her chest and Carl sent her reeling backwards. “Not good enough, my little friend.” She smirked. “Now it’s time to take it up a notch.” Out of a pocket on her Suit, she pulled out a small green gemstone. “It can’t be,” Natasha’s eyes widened in horror “A Chaos Emerald?!” “That’s right, and now you and your friend are going to feel more pain than you have experienced in your life.” Hannah raised the Emerald up and it began to glow. “Chaos…..CONTROL!” She screamed. She moved like lightning towards Carl and kicked him 10…20…30….50 times in the chest before the Chaos Control wore off. Carl was sent soaring into the air. Hannah flew upwards, following him as he arced in the centre of the room. “Going down?” She laughed. She kicked him in the back he plummeted to the ground, causing a small crater to appear in the floor. Carl’s Battle Suit managed to absorb most of the energy from the fall, but he slumped down onto the floor and barely moved. “CARL!!” Natasha screamed. “That’s it Hannah, I’ve had just about enough of you for one day. Bring it on!!” Natasha drew her Sais and leapt towards Hannah. She slashed at her arms, but she was too fast and Hannah managed to avoid every swipe. “Now it’s my move.” Hannah raised the Emerald again. “Chaos BLADE!” The Emerald caused the blades to start spinning, almost out of control towards Natasha. They circled her endlessly, moving closer and closer to her body. Natasha leapt out of the way before they collided with each other and fell clattering to the ground. Natasha sliced a small hole in Hannah’s Suit with her Sais, as she leapt back defensively. Natasha looked pleased with herself, but Hannah recovered from her blow with Natasha and collided with Natasha. “You will pay for the damage you did.” She snarled into her ear. With one move Hannah kicked Natasha against the wall and stood over her. The Emerald in her hand was still glowing as it fed her with its mysterious power. She grabbed Natasha’s neck and dragged her body up the wall, cutting off her air. “Not so tough now are we?” She said. Natasha was struggling with all her might to break free, but Hannah’s grip was like a vice, and she could not break it. Her eyes turned back to purple as she lost her fiery power. This is what you get for messing with me.” Hannah growled. Her hand started to glow an intense blue colour and her eyes seemed to turn colder. Hannah raised up her hand, and Natasha’s body froze solid, encased inside a block of ice. Her frozen face filled with fear. “Now your Suit is mine. I’d better get back quickly, before any of the others come.” She said victoriously. She pocketed the Emerald before lifting up Natasha and taking off through the hole in the roof. Looking back down she saw Carl trying to pick himself up, but he fell back to the floor again. “Don’t worry.” She called down at Carl. “I’ll be back for you later.” She laughed maniacally and flew away, back towards her castle. “N…..Natasha….” Carl said weakly, “I’m…sorry.” He collapsed back on the floor and closed his eyes.
