The film is actually awesome and I don't think wolverine ever talks to cyclops in it so it works perfectly well. The star trek film does look awesome and I hate star trek.

still dosen't make much sense. I've always wondered why gambit's power was never explained maybe they wanted him to look lame kinda like
"and i'm the guy who throws explosive cards!"

It does...wolverine only meets cyclops for like a second. Combined with the memory loss that makes plenty of sense. Plus at the time cyclops can't see, due to having his eyes covered and wolverine doesn't speak so neither would know the other.
His power is so much more then just explosive cards lol. You'll see if you watch the movie

Gambit doesn't use just cards, cards is just his specialty cause he is a gambler, he likes to make money. Gambit manipulates kinetic energy, which means he can use anything he wants to explode. I think the explosive cards are nice for him, makes him seem a bit more normal compared to the others, he seems to be more like a magician then a mutant, lol

He doesn't just make things explode. Gambit via kinetomancy can increase his physical strength making him a much better close combat fighter, jump very high and also long distances. Also with his staff he can cause large vibrations to shatter walls and cause small quakes.
